The Wolf Man Streaming Release Date Revealed For Blumhouse Horror Reboot

The streaming release date for the 2025 horror reboot Wolf Man has dropped. The original movie was part of Universal’s now-defunct Dark Universe before Saw writer Leigh Whannell took over to write and direct the project. The story follows a family man seeking to protect his wife and daughter from a werewolf, only to become one himself. Wolf Man‘s cast is balanced and talented, but the movie underperformed during its theatrical release.

Per Collider, the horror remake is set to drop on Peacock’s streaming platform on April 18, meaning viewers will not have to wait long. Three months after the movie’s theatrical release, audiences will be able to tune in from home, and Universal will be hoping for a stronger performance on streaming.

What This Means For Wolf Man’s Streaming Prospects

The Movie Could Find A New Lease Of Life On Peacock

Wolf Man‘s mixed reviews seem to point out that the movie is fun, but derivative, and falls short of the classic IP it seeks to reimagine. Many of the issues with Whannell’s remake lie in the fact that the movie is full of good ideas but fails to execute them satisfactorily, which hurts the emotional impact. But, with the relaxed and comfortable viewing experience streaming provides, more people may be inclined to give the movie a go.

Streaming often provides movies with a new lease of life, and films that underperformed at the box office can sometimes enjoy unexpected success on streaming platforms.

Peacock is a good choice for the movie, as the streamer has given a platform for more niche projects, particularly other Blumhouse movies like Halloween Kills and The Purge. This gives Wolf Man a chance to attract an audience that may resonate with it, especially those who enjoy horror and monster movies. Though the movie flatters to deceive in parts, the talents of Whannell, who made The Invisible Man, could help to attract interest in his latest remake, and the movie could be in for a long stint on the Peacock charts.

Our Take On Wolf Man’s Streaming Run

Streaming often provides movies with a new lease of life, and films that underperformed at the box office can sometimes enjoy unexpected success on streaming platforms. The Wolf Man reboot is a solid horror offering that doesn’t do anything new or different, but fans of werewolf movies will most likely enjoy some of the effects and atmosphere the movie provides. Ultimately, Wolf Man‘s stint on Peacock could help it develop a new audience.
