As a comic writer who has worked on comic runs for some of the best-known characters across both the Marvel and DC universes, this latest news will offer audiences a look at some of King’s work outside the two major superhero franchises. Published by Image Comics, and hailed as one of the imprint’s most impressive works released throughout 2023, Love Everlasting is a curious blend of psychological horror, science fiction, and romance.

Following the story of a young woman named Joan Peterson, her quest for romantic fulfillment is suddenly thrown sideways when she realizes that she is instantly transported into a new period every time she falls in love. Described as a mix of Groundhog Day and Quantum Leap, the comic’s unusual premise will prove interesting story fodder for Goldman, who is no stranger to bringing comic properties to life on screen. In addition to having previously worked on the Kingsman franchise, the screenwriter also worked on 2010’s Kick-ᴀss and 2011’s X-Men: First Class.

Meanwhile, Abrahamson is the Oscar-nominated director responsible for delivering Brie Larson’s own 2016 Academy Award win for Best Actress. This creative combination is sure to deliver an interesting spin on an already unique premise.
