Ice Cube closes a deal for the fourth Friday movie, тιтled Last Friday, to be developed by New Line and Warner Bros. The rapper, actor, and director starred in all three Friday entries, co-wrote the script for the first movie, and had solo screenplay credits in the two sequels. Previously, he has been vocal about wanting to bring the franchise back, but has struggled to reach an agreement with the studios regarding the rights to the franchise, which includes some of Ice Cube’s all-time best movies.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, New Line president and CCO Richard Brener shared that a deal has been reached with Ice Cube to develop Last Friday.
