Nobody 2 CinemaCon Trailer Details Find Bob Odenkirk Brawling On Vacation

The trailer for Nobody 2 has debuted at CinemaCon. Bob Odenkirk reprises his role as former government ᴀssᴀssin Hutch Mansell in the sequel, which is directed by Timo Tjahjanto, stepping in for the original movie’s director Ilya Naishuller. The upcoming Nobody 2 will also feature the return of cast members Connie Nielsen as Hutch’s wife Becca, RZA as his brother Harry, Christopher Lloyd as his father David, Michael Ironside as his father-in-law Eddie, Colin Salmon as his former handler the Barber, Gage Munroe as his son Brady, and Paisley Cadorath as his daughter Sammy.

During Universal’s CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas, where ScreenRant was in attendance, the Nobody 2 trailer was shown. Check out a description of the footage, which is not yet available online, below:

The footage begins with Bob Odenkirk in an elevator. He asks, “You guys have fun at the convention?” Then he starts fighting everyone in the elevator. We then see him with his family. They decide to go on a family trip to an amusement park. While there, someone bullies his daughter and slaps her on the back of the head. Odenkirk separates from his family, goes back into the park, and beats up the people who bullied his daughter. Because of that, the cops come and Odenkirk gets discovered. It turns out he’s in the middle of something nefarious going on. “Guys I’m not gonna fight ya. I’m on vacation,” he says to a group of thugs, who then attack him. There’s a whole action sequence in a hall of mirrors. “I told you I’m on f*cking vacation,” he exclaims as he beats someone up.

What This Means For Nobody 2

It Ups The Stakes While Maintaining The Original Tone

While not much is known about the plot of the movie yet, the new trailer seems to indicate that the sequel will indeed follow up on the implications of the Nobody ending, which hinted that more danger was on its way for Hutch.

Nobody 2 also stars franchise newcomers Sharon Stone, Colin Hanks, and John Ortiz.

While the action scenes shown in the trailer, including the John Wick-inflected hall of mirrors sequence, imply that Nobody 2 will up the ante considerably, so far it seems that it nevertheless maintains the overall tone of the original movie. The original maintained a delicate balance of embracing action tropes while lightly satirizing them, something that the sequel seems set to continue by leaning in on Hutch’s status as a family man.

Our Take On The Nobody 2 Trailer

It Could Live Up To The Original

Nobody 2 has big shoes to fill, considering the fact that the original movie earned a Certified Fresh score of 84% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and an even better Verified H๏τ score of 94% from audiences. However, this trailer proves that the anticipated 2025 movie has the potential to rise to the occasion.
