The Accountant 2 CinemaCon Extended Teaser Description: Ben Affleck & Jon Bernthal Are In A Bar Shootout

An extended teaser for The Accountant 2 was played at CinemaCon. The film is a sequel to the 2016 action/thriller movie The Accountant, which introduced Ben Affleck’s mysterious character who works as an accountant for some of the most dangerous criminals in the world. In the upcoming Accountant 2, Affleck’s character, Christian Wolff, will team up with his brother, Braxton, to track down ᴀssᴀssins who murdered Raymond King, who J.K. Simmons played in the first film. In addition to Affleck, the cast of the sequel includes Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and Daniella Pineda.

Ahead of the movie’s April 25, 2025 release date, new footage from The Accountant 2 was shown at CinemaCon, where ScreenRant was in attendance. The teaser shows off the dynamic between Affleck and Bernthal’s characters, who haven’t seen each other in eight years, and also showcases them fighting off enemies. Read the full description of the teaser below:

We see Affleck’s Christian at a speed dating event. He talks about how he lives in an airstream, how he’s an accountant, etc. The woman on the phone calls him and tells him about potential jobs. Medina approaches him and they team together to solve a murder. Christian then brings in his brother, whom he hasn’t seen in over 8 years (approximately the same amount of time since the last film). All three of them start working the case, exploring CCTV footage, emails, etc. They discover Daniella Pineda’s Anaïs. Medina asks, “Who are these people.” Christian responds, “My people.” Throughout the rest of the teaser, Christian and his brother Braxton work together, fight people in a bar, and generally start to get along. It wraps up with them two gearing up and then engaging in a shootout in the desert. It ends with a woman on the phone, speaking in Spanish. She starts to say, “They look like…” to which Christian says, “Accountants.”

What This Extended CinemaCon Teaser Means For The Accountant 2

Affleck & Bernthal Will Team Up

The Accountant 2 will be a unique sequel as it will feature characters who were on opposite sides during the first film working together. Firstly, Christian and Braxton may finally rekindle their relationship as brothers. Both are criminals who were unknowingly working against each other in the 2016 movie. Even though they reunited at the end of The Accountant, the teaser played at CinemaCon establishes that it has been approximately eight years since they last saw each other.

Secondly, Christian and Braxton will also be working with Agent Medina in the sequel. While the CinemaCon extended teaser was not released to the public, the official trailer for The Accountant 2 previously showcased the dynamic between Christian and Medina. Even though Medina managed to track down Christian in the first film, which is something that no other law enforcement officers have been able to do, the trailer establishes that she is still nervous around him. This makes sense, since he is a dangerous criminal.

The Accountant 2 Is A Highly Anticipated Sequel

Previewing more footage from The Accountant 2 proves that the studio behind the film is very confident in the upcoming sequel. In addition to stars like Affleck and Bernthal returning for the movie, director Gavin O’Connor returned to helm the sequel, which suggests that it will have a similar tone as the first film. Even though The Accountant has mixed reviews, fans have been asking for a sequel for years. It will be exciting to watch characters like Christian, Braxton, and Agent Medina work together in The Accountant 2 years after the events of the first movie.
