Ryan Murphy Developing A “Secret Project” With Scream Queens Star

Ryan Murphy

is working on a mysterious new project with Scream Queens star Billie Lourd. The creator behind Glee and American Horror Story has produced many hit shows in recent years, including Scream Queens, which aired only two seasons but garnered a loyal fanbase. The horror comedy, starring Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis, explored a murder spree at Kappa Kappa Tau and eventually C.U.R.E. The cast also included Lea Michele, Glen Powell, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, and Lourd, who portrayed the wealthy, earmuff-wearing, Chanel #3.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lourd teased that she and Murphy were collaborating again, but did not provide any details. This would mark yet another reunion, as Lourd previously appeared in American Horror Story seasons and guest-stars in Mid-Century Modern. However, she did express interest in singing for another project, revealing: “What I really want to do is sing. Tell the people.

What This Means For Billie Lourd

She Has Worked With Murphy In The Past

Lourd has become known for her appearances in the Star Wars franchise and Booksmart, but she has worked with Murphy a lot on past projects. Along with Scream Queens, Lourd has also joined the American Horror Story universe, having played many roles, including Supreme candidate Mallory in Apocalypse and a suspicious PR agent, known as Ashley, in Delicate. Additionally, she has starred in an episode of American Horror Stories, where she portrayed a new mother, tormented by her husband in an effort to steal her money.

Teaming up with Murphy can often lead to success, as evidenced by the longevity and impact of Glee and American Horror Story. Some series have gone on to earn acclaim and major award recognition, including Feud and Monster, while the broadcast drama 9-1-1 continues to draw large audiences. It remains to be seen what Lourd and Murphy develop, but fans of Scream Queens are eagerly awaiting updates regarding a potential season 3, and their frequent collaborations suggest that a Chanel #3 return could be possible down the line.

Our Take On A Murphy & Lourd Project

Could A Scream Queens Revival Happen?

Kappa Kappa Taus in Scream Queens season 1, episode 5

While Scream Queens was canceled in 2017, Murphy and various cast members have expressed interest in returning. Because the show was able to transition from a college campus to a hospital, and establish an entirely new mystery, it would be interesting to see where season 3 would go, especially after so much time has pᴀssed. The upcoming Lourd project may not be related to Scream Queens, but it should still excite audiences. Because Murphy continues working with Lourd and other stars, a future installment featuring the original characters seems more achievable.
