Avengers: Doomsday’s Cast Reveal Is The Final Nail In The Coffin For This Thunderbolts* Character Everyone Expects Will Die

While Marvel Studios has been pretty good at keeping secrets, one character’s fate seems sealed after the Avengers: Doomsday

cast reveal. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

is racing towards the end of the Multiverse Saga, and while some large releases like Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be coming out before Avengers: Doomsday, the hype train is already rolling for the next major Avengers event. With the anticipation being even higher due to the fact that there hasn’t been an Avengers movie since Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

However, with Marvel’s unconventional live stream announcement for the upcoming cast of Avengers: Doomsday, there appears to have been a glaring omission from the list that appears to seal the fate of one character who many people have already speculated would be doomed in the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie. With many other surprise appearances, and several characters who were already expected to play their part in the upcoming film, things don’t look good for this character ahead of Doomsday.

Avengers: Doomsday’s Cast Includes All Thunderbolts* Stars With 1 Notable Exception

The Thunderbolts* Are Set To Make A Big Splash In Avengers: Doomsday

The Thunderbolts* movie is shrouded in a fair amount of mystery, with even the тιтle featuring an asterisk which raises questions about whether this will actually be the name of the movie once it’s released to the public. However, the trailers have provided some insights into what to expect, and even answered questions about details like who bought the Avengers tower after Tony Stark died. It’s also led fans to speculate about details like who Lewis Pullman’s character actually is, and the fate of Taskmaster, one of the supposed members of the team.

And while the Avengers: Doomsday lineup included each and every one of the primary cast for Thunderbolts*, including Lewis Pullman, who has a lesser role in the actual team, except for Olga Kurylenko who played the character in Black Widow and is returning for Thunderbolts*, it appears as though the character will not survive the movie. This was already widely speculated, because the Taskmaster character appears to only show up in one prominent scene in the trailers, while the rest of the team show up everywhere else.

Doomsday’s Cast Adds Further Confirmation Taskmaster Will Die In Thunderbolts*

Things Don’t Look Good For Taskmaster After Marvel’s Big Announcement

The thing is, if Taskmaster was a part of the Thunderbolts* team, and she survived to make a big impression throughout the movie, then it is highly likely that the actor would appear at several points in the trailer. Especially since when trying to map out the timeline of possible events in the trailer footage, it appears that Taskmaster only seems to be in a very early scene, while all the rest of the developments feature some or all of the other characters, while omitting her.

Of course, she may just be held captive, or Marvel Studios could be attempting to hide and obscure the character for fear of giving away some other big reveal, but it seems likely that something will be happening to Taskmaster that means they won’t be present for the bulk of the movie. And beyond that, it seems that the character is now unlikely to return with the rest of the Thunderbolts* team in Doomsday. I mean, even Pullman’s Bob is returning, and they are clearly in opposition to the team during the movie.

Why There’s Actually Still Hope Taskmaster Could Survive And Appear In Doomsday

Marvel Could Be Trying To Misdirect Audiences With The Marketing Around Taskmaster

However, there could still be a small glimmer of hope for Olga Kurylenko to return in the upcoming film and beyond. As mentioned briefly above, Marvel may be trying to obscure some big details that will play an important part in the upcoming movie. Whether that is a new suit for Taskmaster, potentially seeing the character replaced with a male counterpart if they are actually killed, or even if the MCU has bigger plans for her in some other way, then all of these reasons could lead to the studio keeping Taskmaster out of the marketing for strategic purposes.

Otherwise, Marvel Studios has also revealed that this is not the end of the cast list for Doomsday, with overt hints in an exchange between official accounts and Robert Downey Jr. on social media. So, Kurylenko may just be appearing in a future announcement, potentially after Thunderbolts* is released. Whatever the case, it seems that Marvel is gearing up for a huge event to take place in Avengers: Doomsday, and the Thunderbolts* cast will have a part to play, but whether it’s all or some of the cast returning remains to be seen.
