After Avengers: Doomsday’s Casting Reveals, The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Ending Is Already Way More Important Than I Thought

Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement suggests the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will play into the Avengers’ fight with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Twenty-seven MCU characters have been confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, including the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts, some Avengers, and multiple X-Men characters from Fox’s first X-Men trilogy. Avengers: Doomsday provides more questions than answers, however, as many important MCU heroes are still missing from Avengers: Doosmday‘s cast at this point.

Danai Gurira’s Okoye, Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams, Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s Valentina Allegra de Fontaine weren’t included in Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast announcement. However, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s plot will certainly influence Avengers: Doomsday‘s story, as suggested by the movie’s cast. In fact, three Black Panther: Wakanda Forever characters have been confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, whereas heroes such as Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk don’t seem to be returning.

Avengers: Doomsday’s Cast Announcement Brings Back More Than One MCU Character Last Seen In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Three Black Panther Characters Are Confirmed To Return In Avengers: Doomsday

Tenoch Huerta and Leтιтia Wright were two of the earliest actor announcements in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday live cast event. Winston Duke was also confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, rounding out Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s three contributions to the upcoming crossover movie’s cast. Tenoch Huerta’s Namor the Submariner, Leтιтia Wright’s Shuri, and Winston Duke’s M’Baku will likely represent the formerly hidden kingdoms of Wakanda and Talokan, which might play an essential role in Earth’s defenses against Doctor Doom.

Avengers: Doomsday’s Cast Confirmations Makes The Deal Between Shuri & Namor At The End Of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Important In A Major Way

Shuri And Namor’s Peace Deal Will Likely Make Wakanda And Talokan Earth’s Protectors

Without a doubt, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor and Leтιтia Wright’s Shuri will be key characters in Avengers: Doomsday‘s plot, as they made a peace agreement between Talokan and Wakanda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s ending. In hindsight, this agreement may be a huge advantage for the Avengers and the entire world. Together, Talokan and Wakanda could create an unparalleled defense system capable of fending off Doctor Doom, or at least provide the world with the necessary weapons and resources to avoid another attack on the level of Thanos’s Snap.

Previously, Earth was caught off-guard by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. The Avengers’ disbandment in Captain America: Civil War made them vulnerable to Thanos and the Black Order, and Wakanda wasn’t able to prepare a strategy in time for Thanos’ invasion. Following the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Namor and Shuri may already be one step ahead of any supervillain’s attack, not only with the help of two of the best armies on Earth, but also with highly advanced technology and weapons that could turn the tide against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
