3 Of 4 Of The Fantastic Four Cast Members Confirmed For Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel officially confirms The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ тιтular characters will return in Avengers: Doomsday, only one year after their MCU debut. Given that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will be Avengers: Doomsday‘s main villain, some of the most likely characters to join Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast have always been the Fantastic Four. The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ July 2025 release date raised the question of how Marvel will integrate them into the MCU’s main timeline in order to pit them against Doom alongside the Avengers. However, it seems Marvel Studios has it all figured out already.

During Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement, Marvel Studios has confirmed the return of three of the MCU’s Fantastic Four: Sue Storm actor Vanessa Kirby, Ben Grimm actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Johnny Storm actor Joseph Quinn. It’s only a matter of time until Reed Richards actor Pedro Pascal is confirmed to return as well. Check out Marvel’s official Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement:

What The Fantastic Four Cast Being Confirmed For Avengers: Doomsday Means

The Fantastic Four May Be As Important To Doomsday As The Avengers

The Fantastic Four have been an essential part of the Marvel multiverse for decades in Marvel Comics, but they’ve been completely absent from Earth-616’s history so far in the MCU’s main timeline. Now, even though the MCU’s main Fantastic Four variants come from an alternate timeline, they’ve been confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday even before seasoned Avengers like Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch. The early confirmation of the Fantastic Four’s return suggests they will take center stage in Avengers: Doomsday.

Our Take On The Fantastic Four Cast Being Confirmed For Avengers: Doomsday

Avengers: Doomsday Might Be A Fantastic Four Movie In Disguise

Marvel’s entire First Family is all but confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday after the events of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Meanwhile, the Avengers failed to come together before the next Thanos-level threat arrived. Although Earth’s Mightiest Heroes subverted the odds after the Blip following their disbandment in Captain America: Civil War and their utter defeat in Avengers: Infinity War, it’s possible that they’ll be caught off-guard again, this time by Doctor Doom. This time, however, the Fantastic Four may arrive in time to avoid another Snap scenario, taking the spotlight away from the Avengers.

On top of that, Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday announcement confirms several X-Men mutants from Fox’s X-Men franchise, which suggests that both the Fantastic Four and the X-Men will be a central part of Avengers: Doomsday. Perhaps the MCU’s Phase 6 will flip the Infinity Saga approach and focus on supporting characters in Avengers: Doomsday before a core group of Avengers take back the spotlight in Avengers: Secret Wars. Whatever the case, the Fantastic Four will likely become MCU protagonists in record time.
