The Boys
star Antony Starr shares a new peek at Homelander in season 5 as filming continues. Created by Eric Kripke, the hit Prime Video series premiered in 2019, depicting a world in which corrupt superheroes are the dominant sources of power. Starr’s Homelander has served as the show’s primary villain throughout its four-season run, returning for season 4 last summer. The Boys season 5 is now confirmed to bring the show to an end, with filming getting underway in Toronto last November.
Starr now takes to Instagram to share a new look at Homelander in The Boys season 5, with the caption “Greetings and peace from season 5.” The first image in Starr’s carousel shows him seemingly in some kind of warehouse setting in his Homelander costume, though, unfortunately, it’s not clear what kind of scene he’s filming.
In order from left to right, the rest of the images, all from season 4, show a costume fitting for the “civilian Homie” look, poster art for Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) as a Supe, and Starr and Crovetti posing together on set. Check out Starr’s post below:

What Starr’s Post Means For The Boys Season 5
Homelander Is Only Getting More Evil
Starr’s new look at Homelander doesn’t provide any hints about what is next for the character in season 5, but The Boys‘ season 4 finale provides a fairly strong indication of what is to come. The final episode of season 4 ends with a significant defeat for Jack Quaid’s Hughie and his allies, with a number of them being detained as Homelander essentially takes on new presidential powers. Homelander declares that a “new age of superheroes” is beginning, and now he has an army of loyal Supes to do his bidding.
Homelander, then, looks to be more powerful than ever in season 5, and set pH๏τos have suggested that he could have concentration camp-like prisons built for anti-Supe humans. Ryan, however, also seems poised to play a crucial role in season 5. Season 4 saw Crovetti’s The Boys character become a key figure as Butcher’s (Karl Urban) fight against Homelander intensifies, and he tries to win the young Supe over to his side. When Ryan realizes that he’s being manipulated, though, he kills Grace (Laila Robins), setting him up to become a season 5 villain as well.
The Boys season 5 doesn’t yet have an official release date, but it will likely premiere on Prime Video at some point in 2026.

Ryan Could End Up Being More Important Than Ever
With The Boys season 5 set to bring the Prime Video show to an end, it seems likely that Homelander will be meeting his end in the upcoming episodes. The show has been building to another Butcher versus Homelander fight for some time now, and it will be a much more fair fight now that Urban’s character has his own unique powers. Though Butcher has sacrificed a great deal to accomplish his mission of killing Homelander, Ryan has the potential to be an interesting wrinkle here; Butcher clearly cares for the boy, even though he’s not actually his son.
There’s still a chance that Ryan will come around, perhaps turning against his father and helping to take him down.

It remains to be seen how Homelander, Ryan, and Butcher’s dynamic will play out in The Boys season 5, but some major confrontations are evidently to come when the show returns.
