Captain America: Brave New World’s Sam Wilson And Red Hulk Imagined In Disney’s 2D Animation Style Art Is Stunningly Perfect

One artist’s reimagining of Captain America: Brave New World looks like something straight out of a Disney movie. One of the best parts about Marvel growing such a huge following over the years is the amount of fan-created content it spawns. From cosplay to fan art, fans can express their love for characters in their own art style. The MCU’s latest film inspired one artist to draw the main characters, Sam Wilson’s Captain America and Thaddeus Ross’ Red Hulk, in a style that is recognizable to many.

Twitter/X user MarkBrooksArt posted illustrations of Red Hulk and Sam Wilson reimagined in the style of Disney animation, and it is stunningly perfect. The artist, Mark Brooks, is actually a Marvel illustrator who has done cover art for comic тιтles like Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and X-Men Legacy. Brooks’ Red Hulk and Sam Wilson illustrations are part of a series where he draws Marvel characters in the style of Disney 2D animation. The illustrator has also posted art of members of groups like the X-Men, Young Avengers, and Dark Avengers in this art series.

What The Sam Wilson Captain America And Red Hulk Art Means

Brooks’ art manages to perfectly capture the look of Sam Wilson and Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World. They are completely recognizable as their original characters while also looking like something that could’ve been done by an animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios. While Sam has always been on the Avengers’ side, Brave New World was his first foray as a major lead hero. Brooks’ illustration makes him look like the main character of a Disney hero story, playing opposite Red Hulk’s sly grin perfectly.

This art may just be the creation of an inspired fan, but it’s a great representation of the different art styles Marvel may experiment with in the future. So many Marvel characters follow the classic Disney trope of a hero story, and it would be amazing if the studio one day produced an animated Marvel series in the Disney animation style. Considering the incredibly close ties that Disney and Marvel now have, it wouldn’t even be that far off as a possibility.

Marvel has been embracing animation in recent years, and most of their animated projects have garnered a very positive reception. From X-Men ‘97 to Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the studio can be more creative and try out various animation styles since they’re not just limited to blockbuster films anymore.

A lot of people ᴀssociate Disney with children’s stories, but most of the MCU content already embraces audiences of all ages. Getting a Disney-style animated series featuring Marvel characters would be a refreshing take while still providing deep storylines that can appeal to everyone. The MCU’s expansion to Disney+ allows the franchise to take a risk with projects.

Embracing the Disney 2D animation style would be a unique way to depict Marvel heroes in an art style that’s new to the studio but not to fans.

Embracing the Disney 2D animation style would be a unique way to depict Marvel heroes in an art style that’s new to the studio but not to fans. Thanks to Brooks’ reimagining of Captain America: Brave New World, a world of animation possibilities has just been opened for Marvel.
