Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011) is the sequel to the hit horror movie Quarantine (2008), and it takes the action to a closer, but equally claustrophobic context. On this occasion, a group of pᴀssengers on a flight are trapped at an isolated airport, where a viral infection similar to the one in the original movie begins to spread rapidly. As the infected are unleashed, survivors struggle to survive and escape the terminal, facing growing despair and fear.
The film, directed by John Pogue, stays true to the “”””found footage”” style, giving it a touch of realism and suspense. Although the plot is somewhat predictable, the atmosphere of constant terror and anguish is effective. The movie manages to create a sense of claustrophobia by limiting the action to a closed space, which intensifies the sense of imminent danger. However, some of the argumentative twists and characters are not sufficiently developed, which causes some situations to lose impact.
In terms of performances, the cast fulfills their role, but none of the characters are particularly memorable. The pace of the film is sustained, with moments of great tension and action scenes that maintain interest, although the lack of innovation in the plot makes it a sequel that brings nothing new to the genre.
