Creed 4 Can’t Keep Ignoring These 2 Important Rocky Characters That The Franchise Has Forgotten About

Although Creed 4 remains firmly in the early stages of planning, that hasn’t prevented audiences from speculating about what the sequel’s story may be about. Each of the previous movies in the Creed franchise has focused on a different opponent for Michael B. Jordan’s protagonist Adonis Creed, from Ivan Drago’s son Viktor to Creed’s childhood friend Damian Anderson. However, two hugely important characters in this saga haven’t been properly introduced yet and must appear in Creed 4’s story.

Creed 4 was first announced towards the end of 2023, several months after the third movie’s release. Critics seemed unanimous that Creed 3 was the strongest movie in the franchise, and the hopes for Creed 4 couldn’t have been higher. However, there have been very few developments on the upcoming sequel in the year since its confirmation. More recently, Michael B. Jordan has ᴀssured that he will make Creed 4, but the exact timing isn’t yet clear.

Creed 4 Should Reintroduce Apollo’s Other Kids

They’ve Been Notably Absent From The Franchise So Far

Imagery of Adonis and Apollo Creed

Apollo and Mary Anne’s kids, a boy and a girl, were briefly introduced in Rocky 2. Despite being absent from the Creed franchise up to this point, Apollo Creed’s other children were finally mentioned in Creed 3. In this sequel, it was revealed that Adonis grew up alongside his half-siblings but was never accepted by them because he reminded them of their father’s infidelity. This is only mentioned briefly in the third movie, to complicate the dynamic between Adonis and Damian.

If Creed 4 wants to raise the stakes of this franchise even higher, the introduction of Adonis’ siblings would be an excellent way to do this. Not only would this make it the most personal of the Creed movies so far, but it would also pay off the long-running themes of family and acceptance that have been present since the beginning.

What Happened To Apollo Creed’s Other Kids

The Movies Have Failed To Answer The Pivotal Questions

The actual details of what happened to Apollo Creed’s other children are still pretty unclear, as it’s never been definitively revealed in the films. The only information we have about their whereabouts comes from a Creed comic book in which Apollo’s daughter returns to help train her niece.

Mary Anne Creed raised Adonis after finding out about him.

While it’s unclear how much of this story is actually canon to the films, it at least proves that the Creed franchise has some intention to explore this storyline in the future. Creed 4 being about Adonis reconnecting with his siblings would be very interesting, even more so after he brought them up in Creed 3.
