I’m Really Excited For Michael B. Jordan’s New Horror Movie, But His Sequel To This $585M Is What I Can’t Wait For

In the coming months, Michael B. Jordan is set to star in the horror movie, Sinners, and as exciting as the film looks, it may not measure up to Jordan’s other upcoming horror film, I Am Legend 2. Set for release on April 18, 2025, Sinners is a horror adventure movie which stars Jordan as two identical twins who return to their hometown hoping to erase their past. However, in the Jim Crow-era South, the brothers not only face prejudice, but an evil that is way darker than they could have expected.

Sinners stands out among upcoming 2025 releases because of its unique premise and atmosphere. The movie seems to blend genuine historical trauma with fantastical horror in ways that are sure to build spine-tingling tension. Plus, based on the trailer, Sinners showcases a grim and gritty setting full of larger-than-life characters. It is interesting enough that Jordan is playing two characters, named Smoke and Stack, but he is also joined by stars like Hailee Steinfeld and Jack O’Connell. Plus, director Ryan Coogler has been behind some real hits, such as Black Panther and Judas and the Black Messiah.

After Sinners, Michael B. Jordan Has Another Very Exciting Upcoming Project With The I Am Legend Sequel

I Am Legend’s Iconic Legacy Explained

Sinners is certainly something to get excited about, but once the movie premieres, all eyes will be set on Jordan’s next horror release, I Am Legend 2. After nearly 20 years, the sci-fi horror film, I Am Legend, is getting a sequel starring Jordan alongside the film’s original lead, Will Smith. For those who don’t know, I Am Legend follows Robert Neville, a scientist who survives a horrifying plague that turns humans into monsters. Neville uses his knowledge and whatever time he has left to try and find a cure for this apocalypse.

To some, I Am Legend 2 may seem like another cash-grab sequel, but this is far from the case. There have been talks about an I Am Legend sequel since 2008, though it has faced struggles over the years, mainly issues developing a strong story. However, in 2022, it was officially announced that I Am Legend 2 would be happening, with Jordan and Smith in the lead roles, and Steven Caple Jr. as the potential director. After the $585 million success of I Am Legend, many viewers are dying to see where the story goes next.

Why Expectations For I Am Legend 2 Are So High

When I Am Legend 2 Is Set To Premiere

I Am Legend 2 is a highly anticipated release not only because of its long hiatus and critical success, but also because of Smith. Generally, Smith is hesitant to appear in sequels, though he has certainly made them in the past. In this way, his agreement to appear in I Am Legend 2 is notable, and hints that the movie may be worth returning for. Not to mention, Smith’s career hit a lull following the 94th Academy Awards, and his return in I Am Legend 2 will more than make up for his disappearance.

Of course, regardless of how exciting I Am Legend 2 is, audiences have very little to go on when it comes to the movie’s release. At this point, the film is still in pre-production, which means it is far away from filming or premiering. Furthermore, there has been little revealed about the movie’s plot, aside from the fact that it takes place decades after I Am Legend and disregards the ending where Smith’s character dies. Either way, I Am Legend 2 is sure to be a monumental moment for Jordan.
