Keanu Reeves’ Role In Ana De Armas’ John Wick Spinoff Just Got So Much More Exciting

Two of the ᴅᴇᴀᴅliest ᴀssᴀssins in the world are set to go head-to-head in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. Ever since the ending of John Wick: Chapter 4, fans of the franchise have desperately wanted to see “Baba Yaga” again. While a fifth John Wick movie hasn’t been confirmed, Keanu Reeves will return in the upcoming Ballerina, which is the first spinoff movie for the franchise and will follow Ana de Armas’ Eve. In addition to Armas and Reeves, the cast of Ballerina includes Norman Reedus, Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, and the late Lance Reddick.

While Armas and Reedus are both new additions to the franchise, Huston, McShane, Reddick, and, of course, Reeves have all appeared in previous John Wick movies. It will be great to see all these actors reprise their roles in Ballerina, but I am definitely the most excited to see Reeves return as John Wick. The new trailer for Ballerina reveals more about Reeves’ role in the upcoming action movie, and I am now even more hyped to see Reeves and Armas share the screen in Ballerina.

Ballerina’s Trailer Confirms Keanu Reeves & Ana De Armas Fight In The John Wick Spinoff

John Wick Is Sent To Stop Eve In Ballerina

In the upcoming spinoff movie, Armas’ Eve is a ballerina ᴀssᴀssin who trained under Huston’s The Director, who previously appeared in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. The Director is the leader of the New York branch of the Ruska Roma, one of the twelve criminal organizations which hold a seat at the High Table. Additionally, she is John Wick’s adoptive mother. Their relationship with The Director proves that Eve and John Wick will have a lot in common in Ballerina.

However, as revealed in the Ballerina trailer, when Eve goes rogue and sets out to kill those responsible for her father’s death, The Director sends John Wick after her. Therefore, when Eve and John Wick face off in Ballerina, they are not on the same side. The trailer shows that John Wick gives Eve the chance to abandon her mission in Ballerina, but teases that the two ᴀssᴀssins will ultimately end up fighting each other.

Ana De Armas & Keanu Reeves Fighting In Ballerina Is Immediately One Of Its Most Exciting Sequences

It Will Be Great To See John Wick Fight Again

Up until this point, it has been unclear exactly what Reeves’ role in Ballerina would be. However, this trailer proves that John Wick will stand in the way of Eve completing her mission. The trailer shows Eve shooting at Reeves’ iconic character, teasing the beginning of a fight between the two ᴀssᴀssins. Later in the trailer, Eve looks up at John Wick as he aims a sniper at her. While it is highly unlikely that John Wick will kill Eve, this trailer sets up a potentially ᴅᴇᴀᴅly conflict between the two of them.

More than likely, John Wick will end up disobeying his orders and let Eve continue her mission.

It is currently unknown who will win the fight between Eve and John Wick in Ballerina. John Wick has continuously proven he is one of the ᴅᴇᴀᴅliest ᴀssᴀssins in the world, but Ballerina will also want to set up Eve as a force to be reckoned with. More than likely, John Wick will end up disobeying his orders and let Eve continue her mission. After all, he will definitely be able to relate to her desire for vengeance. Therefore, while it will be exciting to see John Wick and Eve fight, I don’t think their fight will last very long.

Keanu Reeves & Ana De Armas’ Ballerina Fight Removes One Concern With John Wick’s Role

Keanu Reeves Has An Important Role In Ballerina

Even if their fight doesn’t last a long time, I’m happy to see that Reeves will play an important role in Ballerina’s story. When it was announced that Reeves would be appearing in the spinoff, I was concerned that his role would be a brief cameo to appease fans of the main John Wick movies. However, based on this trailer, it seems like John Wick is actively involved in Ballerina’s story.

Furthermore, it would have been very easy for John Wick to just have one scene talking to Eve in Ballerina. However, this trailer confirms that he will be part of some major action scenes in the movie. This is a huge relief, since the John Wick movies have such a positive reputation because of their inventive action sequences. Therefore, it will be great to see Reeves in action again as the iconic ᴀssᴀssin in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.
