Where To Watch The Alto Knights: Showtimes & Streaming Status

Robert De Niro’s return to mafia movies, The Alto Knights, will have its theatrical release in March before hitting streaming services later on. Barry Levinson, the iconic director behind classics like Rain Man and Good Morning, Vietnam, is returning for his first feature film since 2021, and it hopes to join the best mafia movies of all time with a biographical depiction of real-world 1950s events. Robert De Niro leads The Alto Knights’ cast in two roles: infamous crime bosses Vito Genovese and Frank Costello.

Martin Scorsese’s The Departed features a mob boss named Frank Costello, played by Jack Nicholson, but that version is entirely fictional.

Genovese and Costello were real-life Italian Mafia crime bosses, and the movie depicts the two as once-great friends who have become rivals due to their mutual desire to control New York City. The movie should be action-packed, with the legendary quality of acting Robert De Niro has defined his career with. This is the man who’s played real-life mobsters like Al Capone, Jimmy Conway, and Frank Sheeran, and now he’s adding two more to his acting resume, this time in the same movie.

The Alto Knights Will Stream On Max

Given that The Alto Knights is being released in theaters first, it won’t be available on streaming for some time. The movie is being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, making it fairly easy to determine that it will hit streaming on Max, the home of HBO shows like The Sopranos and Turner Classic Movies. Based on previous Warner Bros. movies that have come out in theaters before moving to online platforms, it seems likely that The Alto Knights will be available on Max sometime in June.

When Will The Alto Knights Release On Digital?

The Alto Knights Will Release On Digital After The Theatrical Exclusivity Period

Generally, digital rental is a service that’s available before movies come out on streaming services. VOD sites like Amazon, VUDU, Apple, and more should offer digital rentals for those who don’t want to wait. However, the studio could lengthen the period between theatrical and digital for The Alto Knights, if the film finds success at the box office. With that in mind, interested parties should check this page for updates.
