I’m Convinced Spider-Man 4 Is The Perfect Place For Miles Morales To Debut After Fan Hopes About The MCU’s New Spider-Man Have Skyrocketed In The Past 4 Months

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again.

After yet another tease of his possible MCU debut, Marvel Studios has set up Spider-Man 4 as the perfect place to introduce a live-action version of Miles Morales’ Spider-Man. Miles Morales’ live-action debut has been the subject of much anticipation for several years, especially after Spider-Man: Homecoming introduced Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis and after the young Spider-Man saw animated success in the Spider-Verse franchise. While nothing has yet been confirmed, recent hints from Marvel Studios might be setting up Miles Morales’ official MCU debut alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Miles Morales made his first appearance in 2011’s Ultimate Fallout #4, where he was introduced as the successor to the Ultimate Universe’s Peter Parker as Spider-Man. Miles Morales has become a fan-favorite character in the years since, especially after joining Marvel’s main continuity after 2015’s Secret Wars event, meaning the young Spider-Man’s possible MCU debut is much anticipated. Luckily for fans, Marvel might have just provided yet another tease of Miles Morales’ introduction to the MCU, making Destin Daniel Cretton’s upcoming Spider-Man 4 the perfect place for him to finally appear.

Daredevil: Born Again Might Have Teased Miles Morales, But This Isn’t The First Time

Miles Morales Has Been Teased To Exist Several Times In The MCU

Daredevil: Born Again episode 3 primarily featured the trial of Hector Ayala, but also managed to slip in a possible tease of the existence of Miles Morales in the MCU. One of the testimonies that Matt Murdock and Kirsten McDuffie present in defense of the White Tiger was written by NYPD Officer Morales, which has spurred speculation about whether this could be Miles Morales’ father, traditionally Jefferson Davis in Marvel Comics. This could just be a case of two characters sharing a name, but this isn’t the first time Marvel has teased a Morales in the MCU.

Donald Glover portrayed Aaron Davis, Miles Morales’ father’s brother, in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, and reprised the role in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but neither Jefferson Davis, Rio Morales nor Miles Morales himself have yet been seen in the MCU.

Back in December 2024, What If…? season 3, episode 3, “What If… the Red Guardian Stopped the Winter Soldier?,” introduced Barbie star America Ferrera to the MCU as the voice of Ranger Morales. Morales teams up with Bill Foster to track down Bucky Barnes and Alexei Shostakov, and Ferrera’s Honduran ancestry could support the idea of Ranger Morales and Miles Morales being connected, as Miles also has Latin American heritage. What If…? and Daredevil: Born Again’s hints at Miles Morales’ existence suggest his MCU debut could be imminent.

Spider-Man 4 Makes Perfect Sense As A Point For The MCU To Finally Debut Miles Morales

Spider-Man 4 Will Bring Tom Holland’s Peter Parker Back To The MCU

Spider-Man swinging at the end of Spider-Man No Way Home

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures confirmed the development of more Spider-Man movies in the MCU even before Spider-Man: No Way Home premiered in December 2021. Spider-Man 4 has recently been revealed to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton with a release date of July 31, 2026, and Tom Holland and Zendaya are expected to be joined by Sadie Sink in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel. It’s very possible that Peter Parker could also be joined by Miles Morales in Spider-Man 4, with the young wall-crawler perhaps debuting to be trained up by his more established predecessor.

Aaron Davis’ appearance in Homecoming and the routine hints toward the existence of many Morales’ imply that Miles Morales is alive in the main timeline of the MCU’s Earth-616, rather than in a live-action version of the Ultimate Universe. This means that Miles Morales’ debut in the MCU wouldn’t rely on Avengers: Secret Wars, but the wall-crawler could still play an important role in the 2027 crossover event if he appears a year prior in Spider-Man 4. Recent teases have been building up to Miles Morales’ introduction, so this is incredibly exciting.

Why Marvel Teasing Miles Morales Now Is So Exciting

Miles Morales Is The Perfect Successor To Tom Holland’s Spider-Man

Miles Morales realizing he's in trouble in Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse

In Marvel Comics’ Ultimate Universe, Miles Morales took over the role of Spider-Man after Peter Parker’s death, which could spell bad news for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the MCU. Holland has referenced his ᴅᴇᴀᴅline for playing Spider-Man many times, and this ticking clock may be nearing its end, even though he’s expected to return for a new solo trilogy of Spider-Man movies. It could be the case that Miles Morales takes over this responsibility, with the upcoming trilogy exploring Parker training the new wall-crawler before his tragic demise.

It’s great that Marvel Studios may soon finally be paying off years of teasing about a possible Miles Morales introduction. The new Spider-Man’s appearance will wrap up loose ends from Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and possibly even What If…? and Daredevil: Born Again, with the latter perhaps teasing his debut very soon, as he may be connected to a current New York City police officer. This makes next year’s Spider-Man 4 the perfect place to partner Peter Parker with Miles Morales.
