Disney’s live-action Snow White is finally here, and there will be an opportunity to watch it on streaming. Walt Disney Studios’ trend of turning beloved animated classics into live-action remakes continues in 2025 with a reimagining of the studio’s first-ever animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The remake stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. While Snow White‘s controversies dominated conversations ahead of the film’s release, Disney forged ahead with plans for a March 21, 2025, theatrical debut.
With a high budget, CGI-filled production like this, Disney’s decision to put Snow White in theaters is understandable. That’s especially true following Snow White‘s positive first reactions. However, not everyone will see the movie in theaters or be able to check it out in that format as many times as they’d like. Snow White‘s theatrical release allows audiences to see it with large crowds, while premium formats like IMAX provide an experience that can’t be replicated at home. But here’s all the info you need to watch the film on streaming.
Snow White Will Stream Exclusively On Disney+
The Streaming Service Has Varied Pricing Options
The only place that Snow White will ever stream is on Disney+. Since Walt Disney Studios launched the streaming service in 2019, Disney+ has been the exclusive streaming destination for all the studio’s primary movie releases. This includes everything from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and live-action remakes, like Snow White. Anyone who is subscribed to Disney+ will get access to Snow White at a later date. Pricing for Disney+ is as cheap as $9.99 a month for the basic, ad-supported plan, but the ad-free plan is $15.99. There are also several bundle options available.
Snow White Is Expected To Release On Disney+ In June 2025
Disney’s Track Record With Streaming Releases Is Reliable
Disney has not officially confirmed when Snow White will be released on Disney+. However, the studio has a great track record with how it handles moving movies from theaters to streaming. Based on the available data I’ve documented, my projections indicate Snow White‘s Disney+ release date should be in June 2025. Since the start of 2023, movies released by Disney go to Disney+ 96 days after debuting in theaters on average.

Snow White |

Disney’s last two live-action remakes, The Little Mermaid and Mufasa: The Lion King, had 103-day and 96-day gaps between their theatrical and streaming releases, respectively. 2021’s Cruella was the first Disney live-action remake not to go straight to Disney+ since the service launched, and it had a 91-day gap. A late June 2025 release date for Snow White on Disney+ is highly likely. If Disney copies The Little Mermaid‘s gap, an early July 2025 streaming debut could also happen. But that would only come if the movie is a major box office hit.
When Will Snow White Release On Digital?
Another At-Home Viewing Option
Disney hasn’t confirmed when Snow White‘s digital release date will be, but it will come much quicker than the wait for Disney+. The studio typically waits about 60 days to make new releases available to buy or rent on digital platforms. Mufasa and The Little Mermaid took precisely 60 days to get a digital release, while Cruella‘s happened sooner, at only 28 days, during COVID. Based on this data, Snow White‘s digital release date should be in May 2025.
60 days after Snow White’s theatrical release is May 20, 2025, so that is the film’s expected digital release date
This means that anyone who wants to see Disney’s live-action Snow White will need to wait at least two months to see it at home. Going to the theater is still the fastest way to watch the movie by a sizable margin.
