Sadie Sink Addresses MCU Rumor That She Is Playing X-Men’s Jean Grey

Sadie Sink has finally addressed her X-Men casting rumors, commenting on whether she could be playing Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Stranger Things star has been rumored to be eyed by Marvel to serve as one of the most important members of the X-Men, Jean Grey, in the MCU’s X-Men movie. The rumors spread to her possibly playing the mutant in another Marvel project before the X-Men film, as Sink reportedly joined Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4. Now, she addresses what is going on with Jean Grey and the MCU.

On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Sadie Sink did not confirm the Jean Grey MCU rumors.

The actress has reportedly joined Spider-Man 4 in an undisclosed role, with Jean Grey being the lead theory for who she could play, according to the report, though Mary Jane Watson is not out of the question. Sink played coy about her being the MCU’s Jean Grey, though the actress confirmed she knows the character and thinks it would be exciting to be part of the MCU’s future movies even if she has to commit 10 years of her career to it. Check out the full quote below:

“Yes (on people asking her about playing Jean Grey). This is news to me… No, I have nothing to say about this. The rumors are really cool though. It’s an awesome rumor… Yeah, I know the character. It’s a great character, so it was cool to read. I think that’s super exciting (on committing to a 10-year Marvel role).”

What Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey MCU Comments Mean

The Actress Has Joined The MCU

With Sink confirmed to be part of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4, her new Jean Grey comments are very interesting. The actress, saying that the rumors are new to her and claiming she cannot speak about meetings with Kevin Feige and Marvel, falls in line with the usual approach MCU actors take to keeping things secret. That said, Sink believes Jean is a great character and revealed she would be excited about dedicating at least the next ten years of her career to an MCU role.

Sink revealed that she is well aware of the Jean Grey rumors, likes the character, and would have no problems playing the prominent member of the X-Men for the next decade. At 22, the Stranger Things star would be perfect for the MCU’x X-Men reboot. The franchise could explore the original version of the mutant team, allowing Sink’s Jean Grey to mature as the years go by and the X-Men roster continues to increase. The way she responded to the questions does seem to make Jean a likely answer to Sink’s mystery Spider-Man 4 role.

Our Take On Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey MCU Comments

The New MCU Star Would Be Perfect For The X-Men Hero

I think Sink’s Jean Grey comments are encouraging. We know that the actress is in Spider-Man 4, so her saying that being part of the next decade of MCU projects would be exciting for her could mean that she very well knows there is a plan for that to happen. Sink also spoke highly of Jean, making it sound like she would love to play the character. Based on her comments, I think she is indeed playing Jean Grey in the MCU’s X-Men reboot, but if it ends up being another role, Sink will bring it to life with excitement.
