Russo Brothers Address Leaked Avengers: Doomsday And Avengers: Secret Wars Concept Art

Marvel directors Joe and Anthony Russo reveal whether the alleged Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars concept art leaks actually belong to Marvel Studios. On March 3, 2025, a batch of MCU concept art images were published on ArtStation. These high-quality images depict several MCU characters in what seems to be the MCU’s Battleworld reality during the events of Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. All images have since been removed, but questions about their legitimacy remained.

In an interview with THR, the Russo Bros. were asked whether the recently “leaked” concept art images spoil any information from Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. Joe Russo reveals that the images aren’t official Marvel Studios concept art. Anthony Russo confirms that nothing from the alleged concept art could be considered a spoiler:

Joe Russo: No, because that artwork was not from Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars.

Anthony Russo: Nothing spoiling in there. That’s not our concept art.

What The Russo Brothers’ Comments Mean For Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars

Avengers: Doomsday And Secret Wars’ Plot Have Plenty Of Time To Evolve

The concept art images allegedly leaked online seemed to confirm many key details, not only from Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars‘ plot, but also from other upcoming MCU projects. For example, the images depict Star-Lord and White Vision hanging out together, Wong and Star-Lord leading the Young Avengers, Smart Hulk and She-Hulk inhabiting what seems to be a medieval village populated with other Hulks. While these scenes would be fun to see on the big screen, the Russo Bros. may still be working on the general plot of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Marvel Studios probably employs many layers of security in order to protect essential information from leaking. Even if the recently shared concept art actually belonged to Marvel, it would likely be limited to ideas with a high chance of not making the final cut. Avengers: Endgame concept art showed Thor sporting his Avengers: Infinity War look and Spider-Man wearing his classic costume, for example, and Captain Marvel’s battle with Thanos on Vormir was sH๏τ but not included in Avengers: Endgame‘s final cut.

Avengers: Doomsday And Avengers: Secret Wars Will Surprise Audiences In Theaters

The events depicted in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars leaks might be eye-catching, but they may not be as exciting as all the surprises the Russo bros. have in store at the end of Phase 6. Still, it’s only logical for Avengers: Secret Wars to draw inspiration from Marvel Comics’ 2015 Secret Wars storyline. Therefore, the movie will probably bear a few similarities to the allegedly leaked concept art images, including Doctor Doom’s “God Emperor” clothing and a Battleworld universe.
