A Quiet Place: Part III news has been slow, but there is still a lot of hope for more from the acclaimed horror franchise. Paramount found a surprise franchise starter in 2018 when John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place was praised by critics and became a box office hit. After several delays caused by COVID-19 shutting down theaters, A Quiet Place: Part II moved from early 2020 to the summer of 2021. The sequel was once again directed by Krasinski and stars Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott, who continues to guide her children through an alien-plagued existence where any sound can get them killed.
2024 saw the release of A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel that explored the first days of the alien invasion that eventually led to the events of A Quiet Place and its sequel. Though the prequel spinoff took precedence throughout 2024, it was also announced that A Quiet Place: Part III was in development. The threequel hopes to continue the original storyline even as the franchise expands through prequels and video games. However, delays have seemingly sidetracked Part III, and news regarding the highly-anticipated horror threequel has ground to a halt.

An Update On Part III At SXSW
With the hype surrounding Day One beginning to fade, the latest news comes as an update concerning A Quiet Place: Part III. Producer Brad Fuller appeared at 2025’s SXSW and offered a candid update for the long-awaited threequel, despite many delays. “‘A Quiet Place 3,’ we’re starting to put it together right now,” said Fuller, before explaining that director John Krasinski’s busy schedule is causing the sequel’s delay. Fuller added, “He’s making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to [‘A Quiet Place 3’].”

“So, ‘Day One’ is not ‘A Quiet Place 3,’ just to be clear… ‘A Quiet Place 3,’ we’re starting to put it together right now. You know, when we made the first one, John [Krasinski] didn’t have a lot on his plate. He had just come off ‘The Office,’ and he wanted to be a director.
“Now, he’s so in demand, and it’s hard to get him… He’s making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to [‘A Quiet Place 3’]. We all want to finish that trilogy, and I’m hopeful there’s even more ‘Quiet Place’ movies beyond that.”
A Quiet Place: Day One premiered on June 28, 2024.
A Quiet Place: Part III Is Confirmed
A Third Installment Is On The Way
A year after A Quiet Place: Part II‘s successful run at the box office, Paramount officially announced that A Quiet Place 3 was in the works and slated to hit theaters in 2025. As of now, the film is in development, with only John Krasinski attached as writer and a few cast members listed. The plot details of A Quiet Place: Part III are being kept completely under wraps, but in an interview with Collider, Emily Blunt admitted that her husband had a “whole arc of ideas” for the next installment.
With such a mᴀssive franchise as A Quiet Place, news concerning another movie would be huge, but nothing has come since February 2024.
The only update that has come since has confirmed that the threequel will not be released in 2025, but no other follow-up details have surfaced since. This could merely mean that 2026 is the likely landing place for the threequel, but the lack of developments for the entirety of 2024 is a bit concerning. Producer Brad Fuller mentioned that work was still ongoing in March 2025, but he couldn’t give much in terms of specifics.

Returning Faces In A Quiet Place: Part III
The A Quiet Place: Part III cast is not yet known, but there are several possible returning faces. The Quiet Place franchise is built around the Abbott family, and that means A Quiet Place: Part III should bring them back. Emily Blunt could be the star of a third film and continue to advance Evelyn’s story.
It is also expected that Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe will return as her children, Regan and Marcus. As for the new additions to the cast of A Quiet Place 2, it remains to be seen if Cillian Murphy (Emmett), who developed a bond with Regan, or Djimon Hounsou (Man on Island) will return.

What Could Happen In A Quiet Place 3: Part III
There are no official details available for A Quiet Place: Part III‘s story at this time, but Krasinski does have a tentative idea of where the trilogy capper could go. A Quiet Place: Part II‘s main storyline saw Regan and Emmett track down a mysterious radio signal where they discover an island that’s a safe haven for humans. Presumably, A Quiet Place: Part III will try and extend this plot point, seeing the humans attempt to fight back.
Emily Blunt has said a Quiet Place trilogy has been planned, and it is safe to say that Quiet Place: Part III will continue to explore how humanity resists the aliens. Since A Quiet Place: Day One introduced new wrinkles to the lore, as well as fascinating new characters, it could be that the threequel could utilize those ideas into the original narrative, and bring things full circle.
