The Russo Brothers’ Comments About Casting Millie Bobby Brown In Avengers: Doomsday Have Almost Convinced Me It’s Going To Happen

Joe and Anthony Russo have directed some of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, and recent comments have convinced me that they may plan on including Millie Bobby Brown in Avengers: Doomsday. While some castings in the MCU have been wasted, the Russos have proven adept at working with a large and dynamic cast in their MCU history. Bringing the Stranger Things star to the franchise makes a lot of sense, and to be honest, I would be more surprised if it didn’t happen than if it did.

There are so many exciting characters joining the MCU in 2025, and it is certain that there will be even more in the years to come given the number of upcoming MCU releases on the horizon. Marvel has generally done a great job of balancing the introductions of new characters alongside developing those who have already established. With the MCU timeline set to soon bring back a lot of key figures – including the return of both the Russos and Robert Downey Jr. – it is therefore important that new characters and stars be added to the franchise, and I think Millie Bobby Brown would be a perfect addition.

The Actor Has Shown Interest In Appearing In Marvel Projects

Millie Bobby Brown rose to prominence starring in Stranger Things, and as one of many strong, young actors on the show, she naturally began to be rumored to appear in the MCU, one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood. Notably, Brown discussed auditioning for the part of Laura in Logan in an interview with Variety, showing that she also has an interest in such projects. With co-star Charlie Heaton cast in The New Mutants, and Sadie Sink rumored for the X-Men reboot, it makes sense that Brown may also been having conversations with Marvel through the years.

In every corner of the internet, Millie Bobby Brown has been fancast for all kinds of roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She has proven to be a dedicated performer, who has given so many of her childhood years to Netflix, starring in Stranger Things before receiving her own films in Damsel and Enola Holmes. Now an adult, there are many opportunities for Brown to join the MCU, and make an important and iconic role definitively her own. While promoting her new film, it has also begun to seem like this may already be further along than expected.

The Russo Brothers Comments Make Millie Bobby Brown’s MCU Debut Being In Their Movies Seem Very Likely

Joe And Anthony Recently Spoke About Their Time Working With Millie Bobby Brown

The Russos have been working on The Electric State, a star-studded new Netflix science fiction film, which Millie Bobby Brown stars in alongside Chris Pratt. The film reunites the directors with several Avengers alumni, most notably via screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. While speaking with Entertainment Tonight to promote the film, the Russos were asked about casting Millie Bobby Brown in the MCU, with Joe remarking “Millie’s on the list for every project, you just can’t ask for a bigger star right now… We’ll put her in anything”.

This comment seems to indicate that there is a desire from the Russos to feature Brown in Doomsday, but I think that Anthony’s later comments may be an even better signal of this, as he states: “She’s young and she has characters in her that audiences can’t even guess at yet”. The nature of this quote suggests that Brown may even be currently be in consideration for an unexpected role in the franchise. I believe that these comments show the Russos are at least willing to bring the actor over to the MCU if the right character emerges, and that it would be the right move for the franchise.

Who Millie Bobby Brown Could Play In The MCU

Brown Would Fit Many Different MCU Roles

Rumors have been circling for some time about casting the MCU X-Men, leading many to believe that they could appear in Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. Millie Bobby Brown could easily play one of these roles, whether Rogue, Pixie, or someone else altogether. Many have also suggested that she could be a great Kate Pryde, although if the recent casting rumors are true, it seems that the franchise may be going a lot younger with the character. If not, she would be excellent for it.

While there are rumors of Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, this would also be a role Brown would be perfect for. Beyond the X-Men, there are other characters and variants she would be perfect for in the franchise, including Supergiant, Spider-Gwen, or even Squirrel Girl. Whether in a large role or a small one, Brown would be an excellent addition to the franchise and, with her already enormous fanbase, could likely even bring more attention to the MCU with a younger demographic.

The Russos would be justified in moving heaven and Earth to get Millie Bobby Brown in Avengers: Doomsday. She’s been considered one of the biggest young actresses in the world for some time, and the Russos clearly had a positive time working with her on The Electric State. Bringing Millie Bobby Brown into the MCU would be a boon for all parties involved, bolstering Brown’s already rich and exciting career while also bringing new audiences to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as simply being a great and entertaining potential addition to the MCU’s upcoming films.
