Kathryn Hahn Teases Agatha Harkness’ Future In The MCU After Agatha All Along

Agatha Harkness actor Kathryn Hahn comments on the possibility of Agatha’s return in the MCU’s Avengers: Doomsday after Agatha All Along‘s shocking finale. After her debut in WandaVision as the Scarlet Witch’s main antagonist, Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness received her own starring role as the тιтular anti-hero of Agatha All Along, where she doubled down on her villainous personality but still redeemed herself by helping Wanda Maximoff’s son, Billy Maximoff a.k.a. Wiccan, learn of his true origins and discover his full potential. Agatha Harkness’ story takes a wild turn in the Agatha All Along finale, but it’s still possible for her to return despite no longer belonging to the realm of the living.

At the SXSW 2025 red carpet, THR asks Agatha All Along star Kathryn Hahn whether Agatha Harkness plays any role in Marvel Studios’ next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, which is about to begin filming. Hahn doesn’t confirm nor deny Agatha Harkness’ involvement in Avengers: Doomsday‘s plot. However, she suggests that she hasn’t been approached by Marvel yet, as she “would know by now” if Agatha had an appearance. Hahn says:

I don’t think so. I think I would know by now.

What Kathryn Hahn’s Avengers: Doomsday Comments Mean For Agatha Harkness

Agatha Harkness May Not Return In Avengers: Doomsday, But She Might Return Soon

In the case that Kathryn Hahn isn’t hiding Agatha Harkness’ surprise appearance in Avengers: Doomsday, her response suits the movie’s schedule. Avengers: Doomsday is starting production in 2025, and all actors involved must have signed their contracts and received their scripts at this point. Avengers: Doomsday‘s plot and cast may be packed to the brim with characters and plotlines from all over the MCU, and Marvel Studios might be reserving Agatha a bigger role in a future movie or show.

Although it’s unlikely that Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness will play any role in Avengers: Doomsday, she could return in Avengers: Secret Wars. After all, she has become Wiccan’s mentor, and Wiccan is very likely to participate in the Avengers’ final multiversal battle. Otherwise, Agatha Harkness could return alongside Joe Locke’s Billy Maximoff in Vision Quest, Young Avengers, or Doctor Strange 3, where both characters could get more screentime than they would in an Avengers crossover event.

Our Take On Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness Comments

Agatha Harkness Could Hold The Key To Scarlet Witch’s Return

While there may not be enough space in Avengers: Doomsday for Agatha Harkness’ return, Agatha may still be a very relevant MCU character in Phase 6. Not only may Agatha Harkness be able to help Billy Maximoff locate his twin brother and future fellow Young Avenger Tommy Maximoff a.k.a. Speed, but Agatha may also be able to help Scarlet Witch come back from the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ, just like Agatha herself did in record time at the end of Agatha All Along. Considering Scarlet Witch could be one of the few heroes powerful enough to defeat Doctor Doom and popular enough to warrant a resurrection, a movie like Avengers: Secret Wars could feature Agatha and Wanda’s return.
