Robert Pattinson’s Upcoming Movies Explained

The schedule of upcoming movies from Robert Pattinson

illustrates how the actor’s career has taken an exciting new turn in recent years, and he has quickly become one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood. After a couple of smaller roles, Pattinson made his mainstream debut in the single-movie role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. After this, he cemented his status in mᴀss popular culture when he won the role of Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga.

However, it is clear now that all of Pattinson’s best movies were still to come. Following Twilight‘s conclusion, Pattinson may have initially struggled to find his footing in the industry outside the franchise, but soon took off with a role in an underrated Christopher Nolan movie as well as some other critically acclaimed тιтles, such as The Lighthouse. He continues to take on challenging and exciting projects with the latest being Mickey 17, a collaboration with Oscar-winner Bong Joon-ho. Now, the sky is the limit for Pattinson with several promising upcoming movies and collaborations.

The Batman Part II

Expected In 2027

Pattinson’s other upcoming picture with a more-or-less confirmed release date is the sure-to-be-thrilling sequel to 2022’s The Batman. In a time of many reboots and general superhero fatigue, Matt Reeves accomplished something impressive in bringing a new, even grittier version of Batman and Catwoman to the big screen that spectacularly resonated with modern audiences. The Batman Part II‘s release date is currently October 2027, with Pattinson and Colin Farrell being confirmed to return. Following the success of Farrell’s spinoff miniseries The Penguin, it is expected that this staple Batman character will have a major role in the new movie’s story.

Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, and Jeffrey Wright are also widely expected to return as Catwoman, Alfred, and Gordon, respectively. However, even more thrilling is the highly debated role of Barry Keoghan’s iteration of the Joker. Keoghan’s cameo in The Batman‘s ending sets up an even more dangerous conflict in Part II, which will doubtlessly be elevated by the Oscar-nominee’s experience from the chilling movie Saltburn.

Die, My Love

Release Date TBC

Sometime in the future, audiences will be seeing the first collaboration between Pattinson and Jennifer Lawrence, both megastars of young adult romances who were once set against each other as the leads of two of the biggest franchises of the 2010s. The movie is more focused on Lawrence’s character, a wife and mother in rural America who is afflicted by psychosis, with Pattinson playing her husband and LaKeith Stanfield her lover. Die, My Love is being directed by Lynne Ramsay, co-written with Ariana Harwicz, and based on the book by Edna Walsh.

While there is some speculation that Die, My Love will be released in 2025, it is unconfirmed. However, the blend of genres represents interesting possibilities for all the actors involved. Lawrence has been jumping between genres since the end of The Hunger Games, including starring in the acclaimed Mother! Horror legend Sissy Spacek is also a part of the cast. Characterized as a comedy-drama horror-thriller, this should prove to be an interesting new project for Pattinson.

The Drama

In Production

Kicking off production in late 2024, The Drama instantly sparked public interest with Pattinson starring alongside Zendaya. Filming in Boston, the Kristoffer Borgli-directed A24 movie is said to be “a romance that takes an unexpected turn before a couple’s big day” (via boston.com). Pattinson and Zendaya are presumably the couple in question, with Mamoudou Athie and Alana Haim cast in supporting roles. The movie might make it to big screens in late 2025, probably by 2026 at the latest.

Much like Pattinson, Zendaya started her career in less-critically acclaimed but still beloved entertainment appealing to younger demographics. However, her career has only been on an upward trajectory since the end of the 2010s, with тιтles like Euphoria and Challengers blowing audiences away. Now, she and Pattinson have the opportunity to bolster each other’s performances and careers with a new collaboration in a fresh drama.

Probably the longest way off of all his upcoming projects, Pattinson is also reportedly working as a producer on a new true crime movie alongside Lance Oppenheim, enтιтled Primetime (via Variety). The movie will follow an investigative journalist and is speculated to be inspired by the 2000s reality TV show “To Catch a Predator.” Robert Pattinson could end up stepping into the lead role himself, not uncommon for actors who are also producing, in what may be the next stage of his career years down the line.

The Odyssey

Expected July 2026

Matt Damon as Odysseus in The Odyssey

One of the more recently announced and most anticipated movies on the horizon for Robert Pattinson is his reteam with Christopher Nolan in The Odyssey. Following up the Best Picture winner Oppenheimer, Nolan is undertaking an iconic epic in this adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, king of Ithaca in Ancient Greece, who embarks on his journey home to his wife Penelope following the Trojan War.

Damon is the only actor with a confirmed character in the movie and there is no word yet on who Pattinson might be playing. However, the film will see him joining an incredible all-star cast that includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Jon Bernthal, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and many more.
