Marcus Flint is a Slytherin character in Harry Potter and one of the many bullies who torment Harry and his friends. First introduced in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Flint is a fifth-year and a Chaser and Captain on the Slytherin Quidditch team. Flint is described as huge and lumbering, with someone making a joke that he has troll blood. Every time Slytherin plays Gryffindor, he tries to squeeze Oliver Wood’s hand as hard as he can. A talented Quidditch Chaser, Flint still loses every time his team plays Harry Potter’s.

Flint is played by Jamie Yeates in The Sorcerer’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets, and despite having little screen time in both, he’s a memorable character with his large false teeth. In The Chamber of Secrets, Yeates’ name is incorrectly spelled as “Jamie Yeats”, without the “e”. Before Harry Potter, Yeates had appeared in three other projects. He appeared on the TV shows Mr. Bean and The English Programme as minor characters and then played Mirad in the TV movie Mirad. After The Chamber of Secrets, Yeates decided to retire from acting.
