A new trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning has been released, revealing more about the upcoming horror movie based on the children’s book character. The story of Bambi: The Reckoning takes place in the Twisted Childhood Universe, the same world as Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare. Its story follows Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son, Benji (Tom Mulheron), get into a car wreck caused by a nightmarish version of Bambi. The movie was filmed in January 2024 and was originally scheduled to be released that same year, but has since been pushed back.
Now, Jagged Edge Productions has released a new trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning, revealing more about the upcoming entry in the Twisted Childhood Universe. The trailer teases its premise as Bambi quickly starts racking up a kill count, biting off hunters’ heads and following a family into a house. The bloodthirsty deer seemingly causes an explosion in the woods and crushes a car under his weight, all while a large cast of characters tries to kill him to no avail. The description also confirms the film will arrive in theaters in summer 2025. Check out the trailer below:
What Bambi: The Reckoning’s Trailer Says About The Film
The Twisted Childhood Universe Now Has A Monster Movie
The Twisted Childhood Universe is expanding with Bambi: The Reckoning, one of three more installments planned for the first phase of the franchise. Other upcoming movies include Pinocchio: Unstrung, currently in post-production, and the upcoming crossover Poohniverse: Monsters ᴀssemble, which is in development. The shared universe of horror movies based on children’s properties is also going to continue with more movies into the future, including sequels to Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare.
The trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning shows off the first monster movie in the TCU, with the mutant deer biting off people’s limbs and crushing objects as he pursues Xana and Benji. There aren’t any overt connections to the other films in the trailer, meaning the movie will likely just be focused on showing a monster version of the тιтle character charging around killing anyone in his path. While reviews for Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, the franchise’s latest entry, were mixed, this new installment could offer a whole new perspective on the budding horror universe.

The TCU Is Expanding In The Right Direction
The trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning seems like it will have the same wild tone as previous installments, only this time turning into a monster movie. The тιтular animal seems to feed off chaos and destruction, much like prior characters in the series, with a perfect blend of scary and goofy to make the movie stand out. Since it’s already confirmed he’ll have a major role in Poohniverse: Monsters ᴀssemble, the ᴅᴇᴀᴅly deer needs to have a striking first outing to be remembered as an important TCU character.
