Star Wars Celebration Main Panels Revealed: Expect Mandalorian Movie News, Ahsoka, & More

Excitement is building for Star Wars Celebration 2025, with Lucasfilm officially confirming the four key panels. This year’s Star Wars Celebration feels like an important one, necessary in generating excitement and hype for the franchise after a difficult year. Held at Makuhari Messe, it takes place from April 18–20, and will set up the future of the Star Wars future.

Lucasfilm has officially confirmed the four major ticketed panels, the most important events where news will drop. They are:

Panel

Day

The Mandalorian and Grogu

Friday, April 18

Andor: A Star Wars Story

Saturday, April 19

Ahsoka

Saturday, April 19

First Look: Star Wars: Visions Volume 3

Sunday, April 20

It’s notable that there is no repeat of the 2023 Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase panel, which was used to make major future announcements.

What Do The Lucasfilm Panels Tell Us About Star Wars’ Future?

There had been a lot of speculation that this year’s Celebration would serve as something of a relaunch, but the absence of the Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase panel suggests that won’t be the case; rather, Lucasfilm will simply be focusing on getting the fandom excited for what’s already confirmed to be in the works. The Mandalorian and GroguStar Wars‘ return to the big screen, which comes next year – is the top priority. This is followed by Andor season 2, which streams form April 22 in three-episode “chapters.”

That doesn’t mean there will be no major announcements. The Mandalorian and Grogu has wrapped filming, but precious little is known about the cast; we can expect major news there. Ahsoka season 2 is expected to begin filming later this year, meaning Lucasfilm’s Dave Filoni will surely provide an update (and likely some of his trademark concept sketches). Star Wars: Visions is generally expected to release on May 4, so expect major news there; the “First Look” designation likely means attendees will get to see an exclusive episode.

Our Take On Lucasfilm’s Confirmed Star Wars Celebration Panels

Initial reactions in the fandom seem mixed. Some are disappointed at the absence of the Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase, while others feel there should be more anniversary panels – this being the anniversary year for both Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Those reactions are premature, though; these are simply the ticketed panels, not the full schedule.

These first Star Wars Celebration panels have only been announced because they’re ticketed. Lucasfilm will likely announce the full schedule a lot nearer to the main event. We’ll keep you posted as more news emerges.
