Crime 101: Cast, Story & Everything We Know About The Chris Hemsworth & Mark Ruffalo Heist Movie

The upcoming Crime 101, set to star Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, has had some exciting news regarding the cast, the story, and more since it was first announced. Based on the 2021 crime novel by author Don Winslow, who also wrote Savages, which was turned into a movie by Oliver Stone in 2012, Crime 101 is an upcoming crime film with a loaded cast. Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth have a bit of an MCU reunion on their hands as the leads, and the ensemble cast promises even more superhero faces.

Director Bart Layton, whose previous work has been in documentaries and docudramas such as The Imposter and American Animals, is heading up this new film that is being produced by Chris Hemsworth in a joint US-UK production. A lot of information about the story and characters can be gleaned from the novella, but Layton is sure to have some new ideas. There hasn’t been a lot of information about Crime 101, save for who is set to appear, and that list of actors is extensive and impressive.

Crime 101 Story Details

Crime 101 Is Based On A Don Winslow Novella

While story details are still under wraps, Crime 101 will likely follow the outline of the novella. In Winslow’s story, Davis is a jewel thief who has been operating along the Pacific Coast for years. He’s managed to stay out of trouble by adhering to his strict code of theft, which he refers to as “Crime 101”.

While most detectives think Davis’ work is that of a large criminal gang, Detective Lou Lubesnick thinks it’s the work of just one man. When Davis decides he needs one last big score, he tosses aside his strict rules to get it. Crime 101 will surely see Hemsworth and Ruffalo’s characters going toe-to-toe throughout the film, with everyone in the ensemble cast on one side or the other.
