Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s First Film Sets Official Summer Release, & It’s Celebrating In Style

The first film in the upcoming Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy has finally set a release date, and it’s celebrating in style. Following the conclusion of the Hashira Training arc in season 4, it was announced that the Infinity Castle arc, the penultimate arc of the story, would be adapted into a film trilogy, although no further details were released at that time.

For over a year now, fans have been waiting in anticipation for news on the Infinity Castle trilogy, and that’s finally come to fruition. Aniplex recently hosted a special livestream event for Demon Slayer, and at the end of said event, it was announced that the first film in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy would premiere on July 18, with Mugen Train and every compilation film being re-released starting from April to build up anticipation. It’s not exactly known when the film will release in English, but the news is still plenty exciting, regardless.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle part 1 finally has a confirmed release date for Japan, but that begs the question of when it will come out in English. While it can often take months, or even upwards of a year for anime films to release outside Japan, the Demon Slayer compilation films had relatively fast release schedules, each one only taking a month at most to come out in English. Because of that, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle part 1 can be expected for an August 2025 release in English.

The only film to contradict that idea is 2020’s Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, as that wasn’t released in English until April 2021 following its October 2020 premiere in Japan. However, not only was the anime film market not very strong in 2020, but COVID restrictions were delaying film releases all around the world, so Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’s release schedule shouldn’t be used as an example for what to expect of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s release schedule. Further details about its release will hopefully be released soon, and when they are, they’ll hopefully be in line with these projections.

Where Will The First Infinity Castle Film Go Up To

Teaser visual for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

While not much is known about the first film in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy, it’s still easy to guess at how much of the manga it will cover. The Infinity Castle arc in the manga can more or less be split into three major battles, so Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s first film will likely go up to Tanjiro and Giyu’s fight with Akaza. The film might shuffle things around a bit to better fit the format, but that works as an ideal stopping point, so it would make sense to see it happen.

That idea is further supported by the new visual for the film. While the new visual features all the principal heroes and villains, it centers primarily around Tanjiro and Giyu, the stars of the first major battle, so it can be ᴀssumed that the new key visual for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle confirms that the first film will adapt up to Tanjiro and Giyu’s battle with Akaza. Whatever the case, there’s even more reason to be excited about Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s release, and with any luck, it will more than live up to its hype.
