Jensen Ackles’s Batman Casting Comes To Life In New DCU Art Following James Gunn’s The Brave & The Bold Update

Jensen Ackles joins James Gunn’s DC Universe as the new Batman through gorgeous The Brave and The Bold art. One of the most highly-anticipated projects from the DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” slate is The Brave and The Bold film, which will reboot Batman for the DCU franchise. While there have been many theories that Robert Pattinson’s Batman from Matt Reeves’ universe would somehow be merged into the DCU, that has officially been put to rest.

DC Studios confirmed at a recent DCU event that a new Batman will be picked for The Brave and The Bold, confirming once and for all that Pattinson’s The Batman franchise will continue to remain in its own world. With several actors being popular choices for Batman, Smartsheep.Art shared new The Brave and The Bold artwork of Ackles suited up as the Caped Crusader for the DCU. Check it out below:

While The Brave and The Bold casting hasn’t started yet, Andy Muschietti is still attached to direct the DCU’s Batman reboot, as a script is currently being worked on. Even though the writer hasn’t been revealed to the public yet, a screenplay for The Brave and The Bold will be presented to Muschietti once it has been completed, and things will go from there.

What The Jensen Ackles As Batman Art Means For The DCU

For the longest time, Ackles has continued to be brought up in the conversation about who should play Batman for Gunn’s DCU franchise. With Ackles’ career as one of the iconic leads on Supernatural and his well-received performance as Soldier Boy in The Boys, many fans are in agreement that he would be the ideal Batman in The Brave and The Bold. As Pattinson won’t be the Batman in The Brave and The Bold, the position is open, and this would be Ackles’s time to land one of the biggest gigs coming up in the DCU.

The Brave and The Bold artwork just indicates once again how many are behind Ackles’ fan-casting as the Dark Knight, especially given how the actor himself has expressed that he wants a sH๏τ at playing Batman in live-action. Ackles, who is a big Batman fan himself, has even already played the DC hero through the animated Tomorrowverse franchise, giving him experience that could translate effectively into a live-action performance. Since The Brave and The Bold movie will explore an established Bruce Wayne with a Bat-Family around him, Ackles would fit the direction they are going within the DCU.

Our Take On Jensen Ackles’ Batman Art

Jensen Ackles as Russell Shaw in Tracker

Based on The Brave and The Bold artwork itself, Ackles looks amazing as Batman and would definitely pull off the suit if he gets the chance to actually suit up as the Gotham City legend in the DCU. Whether or not Ackles’ fan-casting as Batman will happen for The Brave and The Bold remains to be seen. But hopefully, when The Brave and The Bold actually gets around to starting its casting process, Ackles will at least be considered for the leading role.
