Anthony Mackie Knows Exactly Who He Would Kick Out Of The Avengers Group Chat

Captain America star Anthony Mackie tells his Captain America: Brave New World co-star Danny Ramirez which fellow MCU actor he would kick out of the Avengers’ very own group chat. Despite its world-spanning plot, Captain America: Brave New World‘s cast is only led by its тιтular hero, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson a.k.a. Captain America, who mentors the new Falcon, Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres. Besides representing the United States and the superhero community on a global scale, Captain America possesses both the influence and the responsibility of ᴀssembling the Avengers should any threat arise.

In an episode of First We Feast’s H๏τ Ones, Captain America: Brave New World star Danny Ramirez asks Anthony Mackie which of the actors in the Avengers’ group chat he’d like to kick out and why. Mackie responds with Paul Rudd, arguing that “he’s condescending in a smart way.” Mackie then adds Don Cheadle as the second Avengers actor he would remove from the chat. Mackie pokes fun at Rudd and Cheadle in a friendly manner, but praises Rudd’s intelligent sense of humor and voices his appreciation for Don Cheadle’s support at the Captain America: Brave New World premiere. Read Anthony Mackie’s full response below:

Anthony Mackie: “Paul Rudd. He’s condescending in a smart way, so there’s no way to get back at him. So he’ll tell you something and you don’t realize it is an insult until you’re off the chat. And then there’s no way to come back to it. He just has dismantled you. Him and Don Cheadle. Actually, he and Don Cheadle I would kick out of the chat. You know the best thing about the Marvel world, the Marvel universe. It’s like siblings… like going to camp. So everybody chimes in and makes sure that you’re supported. It meant a lot to me, Don Cheadle came to the [Captain America: Brave New World] premiere to tell me congratulations.”

Danny Ramirez: “He didn’t say sh*t to me.”

Anthony Mackie: “I’ve known him twenty-two years!”

What Anthony Mackie’s Thoughts On The Group Chat Mean For Marvel

The Avengers Cast Have Developed A Deep And Genuine Friendship Throughout The Years

Anthony Mackie throws a friendly jab at Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd and War Machine actor Don Cheadle in his H๏τ Ones interview with Danny Ramirez, and he chooses both MCU actors precisely because of their friendship. Paul Rudd is notably an experienced comedy star who shines in MCU interviews due to his jokes and comedic commentary on the behind-the-scenes of MCU projects like Avengers: Endgame. In fact, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson and Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres jokingly mention Ant-Man as the one Avenger they’d meet next in Captain America: Brave New World, and their H๏τ Ones interview suggests it was Mackie and Ramirez who added that joke to the movie as a nod to Paul Rudd.

In line with Mackie’s anecdote about Don Cheadle’s loyal gesture at the Captain America: Brave New World premiere, Cheadle’s Rhodey Rhodes attended Sam Wilson’s Captain America tribute, where Sam gave up the Captain America shield in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 1. An extended version of their Phase 4 reunion shows Mackie and Cheadle’s real-life friendship in action with friendly jabs similar to that of Mackie in his H๏τ Ones interview, with Rhodey mocking Sam’s flight skills. Despite Sam Wilson and Rhodey Rhodes’ limited screentime together, Anthony Mackie and Don Cheadle seem to be close friends in real life.

It’s So Nice To See The Avengers Cast So Close After All This Time

The Avengers Cast’s Real-Life Friendship Enhances The MCU Experience

While the MCU is brimming with talent, no performance could reach its full potential without real-life chemistry between actors. The original Avengers actors are still as close as they’ve been since 2012’s The Avengers, and new pairs of MCU stars have struck up genuine friendships right after their first projects together. Anthony Mackie, in particular, seems to be one of the most charismatic MCU stars. As seen in Bucky Barnes’ Captain America: Brave New World cameo, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are very good friends in real life, to the point that Mackie and Stan’s real-life pH๏τo together made it to Captain America: Brave New World. Besides Danny Ramirez, Paul Rudd, and Don Cheadle, Mackie is also good friends with Chris Evans and Tom Holland.
