Revelations Trailer: New Netflix Thriller Movie From Train To Busan Director Sets 2025 Release Date

The latest trailer has been unveiled for Revelations, along with a Netflix release date. The upcoming South Korean thriller movie comes from Yeon Sang-ho, whose previous work includes directing Train to Busan. This latest feature will be a crime mystery telling the story of a missing person’s case, and the pastor and detective seek answers. The film’s cast includes Shin Min-jae, Ryu Jun-yeol, and Shin Hyeon-bin. It was co-written by Yeon and Kyu-Seok Choi.

Now, Netflix has released an official teaser trailer for Revelations. The trailer shows a man plagued by what he thinks is a revelation from God, that tells him the truth about a missing person’s case. As he continues to be adamant about the truth of the matter, he descends further into madness as he tracks down what he thinks is the devil. Netflix also confirmed that Revelations will be released on March 21.

What This Trailer Means For Revelations

Revelations Has Threads Of Train To Busan

The characters running in fear in Train to Busan

From the looks of the Revelations trailer, the movie will have some overlap with Train to Busan. While the threat is more spiritual than mystical in Revelations, both films involve a villain that is something different from a mere, mortal human. Furthermore, the Netflix movie will also explore the idea of family and the lengths one will go to protect their family. In this case, the detective is haunted by visions of his ᴅᴇᴀᴅ sister, and this pᴀssion drives him.

Yeon has partnered with Netflix before on the series Parasyte: The Grey and Hellbound. This will be the acclaimed director’s first time, however, working with the streamer on a feature film. From the looks of the trailer, Revelations looks to be at once thrilling and highly personal. This balance of the external threat and the external dread led the thriller Train to Busan to such success in 2016, so it will be a welcome quality of Revelations if carried out successfully.

Our Take On The Revelations Trailer

Revelations Is Part Of Netflix’s Packed Korean-Language Slate

Revelations looks to be an exciting addition to Netflix’s upcoming K-drama slate. The producer had previously announced this movie as one of its Q1 K-drama тιтles, and now it looks like the film will be the next Korean-language movie. Getting such a prominent director like Yeon is a big deal as Netflix begins its new venture of highly prioritizing K-dramas in 2025. If the viewership numbers and/or reviews pan out well for Revelations, it could create further momentum for Netflix’s Korean series and movies going forward.
