The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)

The final installment in The Hobbit trilogy, The Battle of the Five Armies, picks up where The Desolation of Smaug left off. After the dragon Smaug is slain by Bard the Bowman, the Lonely Mountain and its vast treasure become the center of a fierce conflict. Thorin Oakenshield, now obsessed with reclaiming his ancestral wealth, isolates himself and his company inside the mountain, falling into a dangerous madness known as “dragon sickness.”
As Thorin refuses to share the treasure, armies gather to claim their share. The humans of Laketown, led by Bard, seek compensation for the destruction caused by Smaug. The Elves of Mirkwood, under King Thranduil, arrive to reclaim lost relics, while an army of Dwarves, led by Thorin’s cousin Dáin Ironfoot, marches to support Thorin. However, the situation turns dire when Azog the Defiler leads a mᴀssive Orc army to seize the mountain for Sauron.
The conflict escalates into a mᴀssive war—the Battle of the Five Armies—where Elves, Men, and Dwarves must unite against the Orcs. Amidst the chaos, Thorin finally breaks free from his madness and leads his comrades into battle. However, he ultimately confronts Azog in a brutal duel, where both perish.
In the aftermath, Bilbo Baggins, having witnessed the devastating cost of greed and war, decides to return home, forever changed by his journey. The film closes as he reaches the Shire, bringing The Hobbit saga to a poignant and emotional end.
