Kevin Spacey has responded to Guy Pearce’s allegations of being “targeted” on the set of L.A. Confidential in a new video the actor has posted online. The actor, best known for roles in movies like Se7en and TV shows like House of Cards, was the subject of multiple Sєxual ᴀssault and harᴀssment allegations in 2017. The first of these came from actor Anthony Rapp, who accused him of making Sєxual advances on him when he was 15. A total of 16 people came forward with allegations of abuse, resulting in nine Sєxual ᴀssault charges.
Spacey was acquitted of his Sєxual ᴀssault charges, and was found not liable for his alleged advances against Rapp. However, in 2018, Pearce spoke about his own uncomfortable confrontations with Spacey. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in 2025, Pearce’s allegations against Spacey include unwanted advances made towards him while filming L.A. Confidential. Pearce only felt safe on set when another actor, Simon Baker, was present with the pair. He said he “broke down and sobbed” at reports of allegations of Sєxual ᴀssault against Spacey in 2017, offering new context to what he’d gone through with the actor 20 years later.

The Actor Made A Heated Response Video
In addition, Pearce talked about telling his then-wife Kate Mesтιтz about Spacey’s advances, explaining how uncomfortable they made him while working on the movie. Pearce’s important role in the film kept him on set, but he remembers feeling “targeted” by the actor, even if he doesn’t consider himself as much a victim as others who’ve accused Spacey of harᴀssment and ᴀssault. He also explained there had been later “confrontations” with him that “got ugly,“ and it wasn’t until others came forward that he felt he had a “wake-up call” to what really happened between them.
Now, Spacey has responded to Pearce’s allegations about his time working on L.A. Confidential with the actor, in a video post with the text caption, “Grow up, Guy Pearce. You are not a victim.” In his charged response, Spacey says he wishes Pearce had discussed what happened privately with him instead of speaking publicly about their time on set together. He also alleges the actor flew out to see Spacey film Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, accusing him of leaving details out to push a “victim narrative.”
Spacey also seems to accuse Pearce of “leading [him] on,” then asks why it took the actor so long to begin accusing him of making unwanted advances. He offers to have a conversation with the actor, including a public one, claiming he has “nothing to hide.” He ends the video by saying Pearce isn’t a victim, and telling him to “grow up.” Check out Spacey’s full video below:

What Spacey’s Video Says About Pearce’s Allegations Against Him
Spacey Doesn’t See Their Interactions In The Same Way
Spacey’s emotionally-charged response emphasizes how he doesn’t believe Pearce’s allegations, even accusing the actor of spending time with him after filming wrapped and leaving it out of his story on purpose. However, Pearce clearly tells a different story of being uncomfortable around the actor, who at the time had become famous for roles in his other movies like The Usual Suspects and A Time to Kill. Either way, it’s clear Pearce feels something was wrong with their interactions filming L.A. Confidential, no matter Spacey’s own accusatory remarks in his response.
