It has been two decades since Twilight was introduced to the world and swiftly became a global phenomenon. The story of star-crossed lovers, human teenager Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen, launched a franchise that has now sold more than 160 million books and been translated into 49 languages. The basic romantic storyline, of course, evolved into the infamous love triangle, which saw all fans declaring themselves “Team Edward or “Team Jacob,” and was adapted into a multi-million-dollar movie franchise that ended with one of the most bizarre but memorable final battles of all time.
The first Twilight book was published on October 5, 2005, with the paperback edition coming a year later. Fittingly, it was announced on Valentine’s Day 2025 that special editions, mostly of the flagship novel but also the whole series, will be coming out as the official anniversary draws closer. Publisher Megan Tingley, the editor who originally acquired Twilight, said concerning the anniversary (via PEOPLE): “The powerful legacy [Stephenie Meyer] has created is evident in the robust market for fantasy and romance fiction we are experiencing today. It was an absolute joy to bring her design vision to life in these exquisite anniversary editions.”

What’s Included In The Twilight 20th Anniversary Editions
The New Twilight Books Have New Designs That Capture The Orignal Story
Twilight‘s occasional floral aesthetics seem to be favored for the 20th anniversary. The first of the new collection is Twilight: Deluxe Collector’s Edition, the hardcover copy of the original book, with a floral pattern quite unlike anything Twilight has ever featured before, both on the cover and the jacket. According to PEOPLE, this edition includes:
“[…] a vintage-inspired design with foil-stamped slipcase; a ribbon marker; gorgeous new art adorning the cover, interiors and endpapers; and a one-of-a- kind interactive edge design […].”
The new paperback edition seems to feature Twilight‘s recognizable iconography of a set of pale hands holding out a red apple, with only a famous quote — “And so the lion fell in love with the lamb” — now decorating the spine. It does not advertise any art of Bella and Edward adorning the inside covers, as its hardcover counterpart does.
Finally, the boxed set, including Midnight Sun, the retelling of the first book from Edward’s perspective, features more art of various flora on each individual book which aligns together to wrap around the jacket. These books will also have stained edges. Twilight is not a series without flaws, but the industry still sees the potential in nostalgic products like this as well as a new Twilight TV show. The fandom has changed with time, but readers are still returning to the vampire romance, perhaps inspired to discover something new about the story with each milestone.
