DCU Batman Fan-Casting Is Addressed By Popular Candidate: “I’m Built For It”

As The Brave and The Bold remains in development for DC Studios, one of the actors who is being fan-cast to join the DC Universe opens up on whether he would be up for the gig. The DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” may be a few years away from releasing The Brave and The Bold, but the Batman reboot remains one of the most buzzed projects for DC Studios. With many actors being suggested in the Batman fan-casting for the DCU, time will tell who will actually suit up as the Caped Crusader.

In a new interview with The Playlist, Brandon Sklenar was asked to chime in about how he is a popular fan-casting for the role of Batman in DC Studios’ The Brave and The Bold movie for Gunn’s DCU, and if he would want to play the Dark Knight. Sklenar shared that he has definitely seen the fan conversation about it, while also revealing that he would love to join Gunn’s DC franchise as the next live-action version of Batman, stating the following:

I’ve seen a bunch of fan-casting for this Batman thing [“The Bave & The Bold”] and that’s very interesting to me, I love Batman. That would be a dream, for sure. But we’ll see what happens, I’m built for it. It would have to be the right thing at the right time.

What Brandon Sklenar’s Batman Comments Mean For The DCU

Given the world of social media, it is no shock that Sklenar has followed the campaign by many fans who want to see him join Gunn’s DCU as the new Batman. Given how Batman is one of the most popular roles in all of Hollywood, it also makes sense that Sklenar would be a fan of the character himself. Whether Sklenar has met with DC Studios for The Brave and The Bold movie is a different story, as he would likely not be allowed to say anything either way, especially if there have been discussions taking place.

Since The Brave and The Bold director, Andy Muschietti, has stated that the project is still a work-in-progress, casting is not going to happen for quite some time. Once The Brave and The Bold movie script has been finalized, that is when DC Studios will actually start looking for who will play Bruce Wayne in the DCU. Whether Sklenar is on DC Studios’ radar remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be shocking if they were also paying attention to the conversation happening online, including his latest comments.

With Sklenar having stated that he would love the opportunity to play Batman in the DCU, time will tell if he will at least get a chance to audition for The Brave and The Bold when they actually get that process started. Since Batman is one of the biggest gigs of all time, this will definitely be one of the most compeтιтive auditions for any actor. Hopefully, more updates about The Brave and The Bold will start to emerge throughout 2025 as the rest of the DCU gets up and running.
