Captain America: Brave New World Soundtrack Guide: Every Song In The Marvel Movie

Captain America: Brave New World marks the start of a new era for the MCU’s Captain America. Steve Rogers famously held the shield for over a decade, but after he retired in Avengers: Endgame, he pᴀssed on the responsibility to his good friend Sam Wilson. The fourth film in the MCU’s Captain America series, Brave New World, features a grounded story akin to a political thriller. Navigating an international crisis, Sam Wilson faces his first challenges as the world’s official Captain America.

In recent years, the MCU has been using licensed music to their advantage. From “Come and Get Your Love” in Guardians of the Galaxy to “Immigrant Song” in Thor: Love & Thunder, the MCU uses music to elevate moments. Brave New World is no different, with an excellent soundtrack featuring a range of hip-hop, rap, and pop tracks. Featuring primarily Black artists, the soundtrack complements Sam’s historic MCU feat.

When Every Song On The Captain America: Brave New World Soundtrack Plays In The Movie

The Soundtrack Includes Hip-Hop, Rap, And Pop

“Ante Up (Robbin Hoodz Theory)” by M.O.P is played when Sam meets up with Isaiah Bradley for the first time in the film. Isaiah was introduced as a war veteran subjected to the Super Soldier Serum against his will. Introduced in the Disney+ series The Falcon & The Winter Soldier as one of the original Captain Americas, Isaiah became a mentor of sorts to Sam. Figuring his trusted ally, Joaquin Torres, was ready to level up, Sam brings Joaquin to meet Isaiah at a gym where this song plays in the background.

“Elephant” by Tame Impala plays during Sam and Isaiah’s training montage. When they initially met, Joaquin was unaware of Isaiah’s idenтιтy. However, he soon realized his super soldier history and witnessed Isaiah’s strength firsthand. Sam fights Isaiah in hand-to-hand combat, with Isaiah easily throwing a punching bag around as an obstacle for him to navigate. The training montage ends with Sam on the floor, though he later insists that he’s fine and that he’s not using an incoming phone call as an excuse to rest.

“Natural Born Winner” by Ziggy Sullivan plays during the movie.

“Get It Done” by Blackway is played while Sam, Joaquin, and Isaiah travel to the White House. Invited by President Thaddeus Ross, Sam accepted on the condition that Isaiah would be invited as well. The three ride to the White House in style in a limo, where Sam and Joaquin try to get Isaiah excited about the night. The song continues to play in the background over sweeping sH๏τs of Washington, D.C., as well as when the trio arrive and make their public appearance in front of reporters and pH๏τographers.

“Mr. Blue” by The Fleetwoods is used throughout the film as Samuel Sterns’ mind manipulation song. It is first briefly played in the White House when Isaiah is initially triggered, but a clearer version of the audio is heard when Ruth Bat-Seraph visits the prison. One of the guards shoots the four other White House suspects and then himself, and “Mr. Blue” can be heard playing from his radio. It is the one outlier song on the soundtrack in terms of genre, but it sounds exactly like music that Steve Rogers would have listened to.

“Keep On Movin” by B. Stew plays during the movie.

“i” by Kendrick Lamar plays leading into Brave New World’s credits. The song starts while Sam and Joaquin joke around in the hospital room, leaving the film on a lighthearted and hopeful note. The song then plays into the credits. Marvel chose the perfect time to include Lamar as the rapper has been in the spotlight after receiving five Grammy Awards for “Not Like Us.” He also recently headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show, where his set included “All the Stars” from the Black Panther soundtrack.

An official soundtrack of these licensed songs isn’t currently available, but fans can listen to the film’s original score on streaming platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, and Pandora. The original score is composed by Laura Karpman, who previously did music for What If…?, Ms. Marvel, and The Marvels.

As for the licensed music, the songs can be compiled by fans through personal playlists. The MCU has been on a roll with utilizing popular music, and Captain America: Brave New World is no exception. The film chose an excellent variety of music that contributes to Sam Wilson’s history-making narrative while also matching the energy of the scenes perfectly.
