DC Nightwing Actor Suits Up As The MCU’s Cyclops In Stunning X-Men Movie Reboot Art

The Marvel Cinematic Universe finds its Cyclops in Brenton Thwaites in some new X-Men movie reboot fan art. After regaining the film rights, Marvel Studios is actively working on bringing a new MCU X-Men movie. With the amount of X-Men characters that the MCU will have to cast, fans are actively dropping their own suggestions for who should play some of Marvel’s most famous mutants.

One of the biggest X-Men characters in the entire mythology is Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops, who was previously played by James Marsden and Tye Sheridan in the original and prequels, respectively. For the MCU, Zippexe shared new artwork where they pitch Brenton Thwaites as Cyclops in the upcoming Marvel reboot. Check it out below:

Thwaites made his superhero debut through the live-action тιтans TV show, where he played Dick Grayson, a.k.a. the first Robin, who ended up becoming Nightwing in the series, which lasted for four seasons. At the time of this story’s publication, Marvel Studios hasn’t officially revealed if Cyclops will be one of the characters to star in the X-Men reboot.

What The Brenton Thwaites As The MCU Cyclops Art Means For The X-Men Reboot

While the X-Men movie reboot isn’t even set on the MCU’s upcoming release schedule yet, seeing artwork like Thwaites as the new Cyclops just showcases how excited and ready fans are to see the mutants reimagined under Marvel Studios. Given how rocky Fox’s X-Men era was in the final years, fans who have followed these Marvel characters through comics and other mediums want to see proper portrayals of this group. Someone like Cyclops, who is one of the most beloved X-Men characters of all time, was one of the characters who suffered in both of the X-Men film series from Fox.

With a former superhero actor like Thwaites being suggested for Cyclops, some fans are game to see a DC star move over to the MCU and take on one of the biggest X-Men roles. Whether the X-Men in the MCU will be established by the time fans get to see them on the big screen remains to be seen. However, with Thwaites being in his 30s, the MCU could follow a version of Scott who is still relatively early in his journey as Cyclops.

Seeing how incredible Thwaites would look as Cyclops, the former тιтans star would actually be a great candidate to play Scott Summers in the MCU X-Men reboot. Whether or not Thwaites would want to take on another superhero gig remains to be seen, as he hasn’t spoken about returning to the comic book genre after тιтans. But for now, the world will have to wait and see what characters will actually be in the X-Men reboot and who will actually end up playing them in the MCU.
