Prepare to be amazed by a story, especially if you’re already a mother: a Brazilian woman gave birth to a baby weighing an incredible 7.3 kilograms.
Claydiane Santos dos Santos welcomed her son, Angerson, via cesarean section on January 18, measuring 59 centimeters in length. The newborn set a record for the largest baby born in the Brazilian state of the Amazon, narrowly missing the national record of 8 kg.
The medical team was astounded. They couldn’t even find hats big enough for him, as newborns are typically given, because nothing fit! Even finding diapers was a challenge. Interestingly, a 7.3 kg baby requires clothing suitable for a 9-month-old. He skipped right past his first year!
During a routine check-up, doctors noticed that the baby was too large to wait until full term, so they opted for induced labor well ahead of the expected due date. Baby Angerson is truly a miracle, arriving safely and soundly. What a blessing!
Currently, Angerson remains in an incubator, but both he and his mother are in stable condition. According to doctors, the newborn’s size is likely due to his mother’s diabetes. Cleidiane was relieved that he arrived safely without any complications.
For reference, the largest naturally born baby on record was delivered in Italy in 1955, weighing an astonishing 10.2 kilograms!
Regardless of size, we are all created in the image of God. May Angerson continue to thrive and grow big and strong. May his life be a blessing to his parents as they raise this precious boy together.
Wishing Angerson health and a joyful childhood!
