Sтιтch Invades The Actual Super Bowl & Wreaks Havoc In Clever Live-Action Lilo & Sтιтch Ad

Disney unveils a new teaser for the live-action Lilo & Sтιтch. Slated for release on May 23, the latest live-action remake from Disney follows the story of a young girl who befriends a wild alien after he crash lands on Earth. Maia Kealoha stars as Lilo, alongside Chris Sanders’ Sтιтch, Sydney Agudong’s Nani, and Zach Galifianakis’ Jumba. The remake is expected to be a faithful depiction of the original 2002 release, which earned over $270 million on an $80 million budget.

During Sunday’s Super Bowl broadcast, Disney revealed the latest teaser trailer for Lilo & Sтιтch, which sees Sтιтch causing chaos on the field. Check it out below:

The teaser sees Sтιтch on the field, evading a group of workers who try to catch him in garbage bins. Unfortunately for them, Sтιтch manages to dig through the field and eventually finds himself on a cart. He drives into the goalpost and is launched back on the field. The teaser ends with a clip of Sтιтch celebrating against a white screen.

What This Teaser Means For Lilo & Sтιтch

This Offers Insight Into Sтιтch’s Appearance

Sтιтch on the beach by sand castles in the live-action Lilo & Sтιтch

Disney already revealed early footage of Sтιтch in August at its D23 event. The first teaser saw Sтιтch leaping through a cloth movie announcement while celebrating incessantly. The next insight came in November, as he stomped through a sand castle on the beach. Both original teasers offered about 10 seconds of footage of Sтιтch, though the second provided more interaction with the environment. This latest reveal is the longest look yet.

Much of the footage simply sees him darting faster than the shaky camera can move.

The Super Bowl teaser features approximately 30 seconds of Sтιтch racing across the field. It reveals his speed, his ingenuity, and his pension for chaos. The teaser also features Sтιтch speaking loudly into a microphone. Unfortunately, while it is more insight than other teasers gave, it still does not include a steady view of his appearance. Much of the footage simply sees him darting faster than the shaky camera can move. Only the final screen truly gives insight into his appearance, as it offers the steadiest camera.

Our Take On The Lilo & Sтιтch Super Bowl Teaser

It’s Time For A Real Trailer

The latest teaser is certainly adorable, but it would be nice to see more than just Sтιтch. Disney is hoping to use the adorable alien as its main marketing strategy, but Lilo is also essential to the Lilo & Sтιтch story. It is always fun to see Sтιтch causing chaos, but the shaky camera meant that not much insight could be garnered from this footage. His voice matched the animated movie, as did his chaotic personality, but that was all it truly provided. A trailer can offer more, especially only a few months away from the release date.
