Who Scarlett Johansson Plays In Jurᴀssic World Rebirth

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth features new cast members, the most notable of which is actor Scarlett Johansson, who plays a brand-new character. Based on the books by Michael Crichton, the Jurᴀssic World franchise has become one of the most successful sci-fi/horror franchises of all time, leading to six films, two short stories, and two animated series. Although Jurᴀssic World Dominion was rumored to be the last film, the seventh film, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, was announced in August 2024.

Even though Chris Pratt won’t return for Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, the project will include equally popular actors. The three biggest names attached to the film are Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey. These three will embark on a journey to the research facility for the original Jurᴀssic Park. While all three are fantastic, Scarlett Johansson stands out because of her history with the franchise. She was a superfan of Jurᴀssic Park, so her role in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is a dream come true. Luckily, her character will be as exciting for fans as it is for the actor.

The 2025 Super Bowl trailer shows Scarlett Johansson in action as Jurᴀssic World Rebirth‘s Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert who’s leading a secret trip to the original Jurᴀssic Park research facility so that they can extract DNA from three dinosaurs. In the newest trailer, she says, “We’re the best,” when speaking about herself and Duncan Kincaid getting people in and out of places they aren’t supposed to be, which hints at a dubious backstory for the character.

She’s brave enough to go up against dinosaurs hand to hand and with a gun. However, further details about her internal motivation for leading the trip to the Jurᴀssic Park research facility will remain hidden until closer to Jurᴀssic World Rebirth‘s release, as the mystery increases the hype.

From the initial images and clips of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, which takes place five years after Jurᴀssic World Dominion, fans can get a better idea of who Zora Bennett is. However, the best information on the character comes from Scarlett Johansson. According to Comicbook.com, Johansson strongly influenced the character’s personality and drive. She said this:

I just wanted to understand what the stakes were for her, and that she wasn’t just driven by money or power. You wanted it to feel personal for her. You have to love the characters and you want to root for them. The movie can’t just stand on the dinosaurs alone. She’s someone who’s dedicated herself to saving other people, and I think she’s at a professional crossroads. I think she’s burnt out.

The fact that Zora Bennett wants to help others explains why she would go on an extremely dangerous mission where she could get killed by dinosaurs. Additionally, Johansson’s statements about her Jurᴀssic World Rebirth character serve as reᴀssurance that there’s an authentic story to be told with fleshed-out characters rather than simply being a cash grab.
