Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Teams Up With Venom Through New Spider-Man 4 Art

New Spider-Man 4 art for Tobey Maguire’s canceled Marvel sequel sees the web-crawler teaming up with Venom but with a mᴀssive twist. It has been almost four years since Maguire returned to the big screen as his version of Peter Parker, this time entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline via Spider-Man: No Way Home. Following his well-received appearance alongside Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man variants, many fans of the Sam Raimi franchise have been wanting to see Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 movie resurrected.

While there were numerous ideas for what Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 would have focused on, Arifinity and Malcolm_3D recently shared a collaboration where they brought Maguire’s Spider-Man together with a very unexpected ally for his hypothetical fourth installment. As Peter is wearing a version of the Superior Spider-Man armor, the Spider-Man 4 art also imagines what Joe Manganiello’s Flash Thompson could look like as Agent Venom. Check it out below:

Manganiello portrayed Flash throughout Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, as he had his last appearance in Spider-Man 3, where he appeared briefly during Harry Osborn’s funeral. Following Maguire’s reprisal of the Marvel icon in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there have been a lot of theories that he may be back for Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars.

What The Spider-Man 4 Agent Venom Art Means For Tobey Maguire

Even though Sony Pictures decided to ax Spider-Man 4 more than a decade ago, the fact that there are still fans sharing concept ideas and fart-art for Maguire’s scrapped sequel indicates that there is still a big interest in his franchise coming back. With the little teases that he shared in No Way Home about where his life is at back in the Rami-universe, there are definitely ways for Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 movie to get retooled and come to fruition in the near future. It would also be a neat way to pick up Peter’s story after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home where he got sent back to his universe.

In the case of Manganiello’s Flash, having an Agent Venom story in Spider-Man 4 would be an exciting opportunity to not only bring back his character but also get a new sH๏τ at the Symbiote mythology in Raimi’s universe. While Spider-Man 3′s Venom was poorly received, Agent Venom would be a sH๏τ at redeeming the Symbiote concept in the franchise, and also explore the Agent Venom angle in Maguire’s continuity. Given how many years have pᴀssed since Spider-Man 3, there are a lot of story reasons that could explain why Agent Venom would be in Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 film.

Our Take On The Spider-Man 4 Agent Venom Art

Seeing Spider-Man and Agent Venom teamed up together in the new Marvel art, it would be exciting to see Spider-Man 4 bring Maguire and Manganiello’s characters together in this capacity if Sony Pictures ever decides to revisit that franchise. While there are many reasons why Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 should happen, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are keeping their Spider-Man focus on Holland’s next installment. However, there may come a time when Sony Pictures at least looks at ways to make Spider-Man 4 happen for Maguire in one way or another.
