Amy Schumer’s New Comedy Movie Debuts With One Of Netflix’s Lowest Rotten Tomatoes Scores

Amy Schumer‘s new comedy movie debuts with one of Netflix’s lowest Rotten Tomatoes scores. The stand-up comedian and actress began her career in the early 2000s before breaking through by appearing as a contestant on NBC’s Last Comic Standing in season 5. From there, she created and starred in her own Comedy Central sketch series Inside Amy Schumer from 2013 to 2016, a show that earned her five Emmy nominations, including a win for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series in 2015.

After that, Schumer made her film debut by writing and starring in the 2015 romantic comedy Trainwreck, which was a critical and commercial success that earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. However, her subsequent comedic ventures haven’t been quite as successful, including 2017’s Snatched and 2018’s I Feel Pretty, which both received unfavorable reviews from critics. One of Schumer’s most recent projects was the Hulu series Life & Beth, which was canceled after two seasons. Now, her new Netflix movie is also receiving negative reviews.

Kinda Pregnant Debuts With One Of Netflix’s Lowest Rotten Tomatoes Scores

Amy Schumer’s New Comedy Is Streaming Now

Kinda Pregnant has debuted with one of Netflix’s lowest Rotten Tomatoes scores. Co-written by and starring Schumer, Netflix’s new comedy film follows a middle-aged woman whose plans to settle down and start a family fall apart, so she begins faking a pregnancy, but ends up falling for her dream guy in the process. Alongside Schumer, Kinda Pregnant‘s cast also includes Will Forte, Jillian Bell, Brianne Howey, Lizze Broadway, Urzila Carlson, Chris Geere, Damon Wayans Jr., Alex Moffat, and Joel David Moore.

Now, following its release on February 5, Kinda Pregnant has debuted with a dismal 15% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie only has 13 reviews from critics at the time of writing, so the score could fluctuate as more are published. Its audience score is also looking grim at 27% with over 100 ratings from users.

What Kinda Pregnant’s Rotten Tomatoes Score Means For The Movie

What Are The Negative Reviews Saying?

As it stands, Kinda Pregnant‘s Rotten Tomatoes score is one of the lowest Netflix has seen in some time. Another one of their 2025 releases so far was Back in Action, which was panned by critics but has a slightly higher 27% score. Overall, critics are calling Kinda Pregnant a shallow, unfunny, and misguided comedy that wastes its cast’s talent, with only a few finding any redeeming guilty pleasure qualities. Kinda Pregnant appears to be another misfire for Amy Schumer, leaving critics and audiences once again wondering whether her once-celebrated comedic spark is being overshadowed by misguided and shallow execution.
