Nosferatu Cracks Another Top 50 Highest-Grossing Movie Charts After More Than A Month In Theaters

Nosferatu is continuing its successful box office stint and has climbed two more highest-grossing movie charts in the process. Robert Eggers’ acclaimed and stylish remake of the classic 1922 silent movie has achieved critical and commercial success, grossing over $170 million, and earning nominations for four Oscars. Nosferatu has an ensemble cast including Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Willem Dafoe. The movie is in its sixth week in theaters and is looking like it has the legs for a little longer yet.

Per The Numbers, Nosferatu is currently no. 48 on the all-time worldwide box office charts for horror movies and no. 29 on the all-time worldwide box office charts for remakes, with a worldwide gross of $172.4 million. In terms of the horror box office charts, the movie ranks just above Scream 2 at no. 49 with $172.3 million, and Nope at no. 50 with $170 million, and it is likely to pᴀss Insidious: The Last Key at no. 47 with $172.8 million.

What This Means For Nosferatu‘s Long-Term Success

The Movie Is Nearing The End Of Its Run But Could Last Another Couple of Weeks

While Nosferatu is likely reaching the end of its theatrical run, there could still be some gas left for the movie in terms of improving box office numbers. The film is already somewhat niche since it is a contemporary horror movie that has a very distinguished style and thematic substance, as is true of all Eggers projects. There is nothing like it in theaters currently, and this could help it to stand out and appeal to more people.

Nosferatu is a gorgeously made movie and features some of the best performances in Eggers movies, which have helped the director craft a wonderfully creepy Gothic horror movie, with stunning visuals and commanding actors.

The movie’s climb up the highest-grossing charts shows that there has been a steady audience, and it could wind up becoming one of the most successful vampire movies of all time, certainly the best of the Nosferatu movies. While Nosferatu won’t be joining the top 40 any time soon, it could enjoy a steadily successful run, turning a nice profit against its $50 million budget. The movie itself has already broken box office records for Eggers, who is now developing many projects, like Werwulf and a Labyrinth sequel.

Our Verdict On Nosferatu‘s Legacy

The Movie Is Already Being Lauded As A Modern Classic

Nosferatu is a gorgeously made movie and features some of the best performances in Eggers movies, which have helped the director craft a wonderfully creepy Gothic horror movie, with stunning visuals and commanding actors. The movie has already made a profit, but won’t be making huge money comparatively. Still, this won’t change the fact that the movie has already been brilliantly received as a work of art, and Nosferatu could be looked back on as one of the defining works of vampire fiction.
