M3GAN 2.0 Teases A Repeat Of The Original Movie’s Most Memorable Scene

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for M3GAN.

The new teaser for M3GAN 2.0 suggests that a fan-favorite scene from the original will receive a callback in the upcoming sequel. While not much is known about M3GAN 2.0’s story details just yet, it’s been confirmed that the core cast of M3GAN—including Gemma, Cady, Tess, and Cole—will be returning for the follow-up.

After the first film ended with M3GAN escaping the confines of her android body, it’s uncertain how she’ll find a way back into an android resembling her former appearance. It’s also unknown how (or even if) these events may affect the plot of 2026’s M3GAN spinoff SOULM8TE. What appears very clear from the teaser, however, is that M3GAN’s personality will remain largely unchanged. That’s good news for fans, as it hints that one of the most popular scenes from the first movie should return in M3GAN 2.0.

M3GAN 2.0’s Teaser Features M3GAN Dancing To Chappell Roan

Move Over Chappell, The Real Femininomenon Is A Killer Robot

M3GAN dancing in the first M3GAN 2.0 teaser

The teaser for M3GAN 2.0 starts out mysteriously, showing a young girl’s feet as she walks across a stage. As her full figure is revealed, her silhouette against the fuchsia stage lights masks her idenтιтy. M3GAN then begins dancing to Chappell Roan’s “Femininomenon” while mimicking several of the same dance moves from M3GAN’s viral marketing campaign. At the end, M3GAN finally reveals her face before giggling at her upcoming return and winking at the camera.

Centering the teaser around M3GAN’s dance is an intelligent marketing decision, given the role popular M3GAN memes played in establishing a fanbase for the movie ahead of its release. It’s also smart because including the dance makes M3GAN 2.0 feel perfectly suited for a teaser drop during 2025’s pop-heavy Grammy Awards, which is when the ad was debuted. But while it might seem as if the teaser was conceptualized merely to make it more Grammy-compatible, there’s good reason to believe M3GAN’s meme-worthy dance moves will feature in the movie itself.

It Would Make Sense For M3GAN 2.0 To Have Another Dancing Scene

M3GAN Slaying On The Dance Floor Didn’t Hurt The Movie’s Box Office

As previously mentioned, M3GAN 2.0 will be followed by SOULM8TE in the creation of a M3GAN cinematic universe. While the concept of a horror franchise centered entirely around tech and AI is intriguing, M3GAN never felt suited to become more than a standalone movie with perhaps one or two sequels. If M3GAN 2.0 doesn’t keep fans’ attention, SOULM8TE and any other future spinoffs Blumhouse might hope to develop will wind up suffering as a result.

Blumhouse also needs to think about their more immediate future. After the latest string of poorly received Blumhouse movies, it would be unwise to show M3GAN dancing in the trailer if it didn’t happen in the actual film. The last thing Blumhouse needs right now is disappointed fans accusing them of false advertising. Obviously, M3GAN 2.0 should aim to achieve the same critical praise as the first movie without merely relying on fan service. But if all else fails, servicing fans for the sake of higher audience scores might be all the studio has left.
