โขDerawar Fort was first built in the 9th century, it was conquered and completely rebuilt by the Nawabs of Bahawalpur in 1733 AD.
โขThe walls have a perimeter of 1500 meters and stand up to 30 meters high.
โขThere are forty circular bastions, ten on each side, and are visible across the desert for many miles.
โขEach is decorated with intricate patterns in cut brickwork.
โขThere are remains of structures inside the fort, richly decorated with tile and fresco work.
โขThe Moti or Pearl Mosque stands nearby and the cemetery of the Nawabs of Bahawalpur is filled with ornate and elaborate graves.
