Nearly 30 years after it was released in theaters, Space Jam is still finding new fans and nostalgic fans on streaming. The wild and bizarre live-action/animation hybrid stars basketball legend Michael Jordan as himself as he is dragged into the cartoon world by none other than Bugs Bunny. Bugs and the rest of the Looney Tunes are seeking help to take on a bunch of nefarious aliens in a basketball game. What ensues is a hilarious and wacky all-ages adventure with all the iconic Looney Tunes as well as cameos from basketball superstars and even Bill Murray.
Space Jam didn’t receive great reviews during its original release and is positively flooded with product placement, but it still holds a strong nostalgia for a certain generation. After years of rumors and false starts, Space Jam: A New Legacy was released in 2021, replacing Jordan with one of the superstars who followed him, LeBron James. However, the sequel could not live up to the legacy of the original with many fans still seeking out the 1996 Space Jam to watch on streaming.

Where To Stream Space Jam: A New Legacy
The Long-Awaited Sequel Arrived In 2021
While the first movie was not a hit with critics, Space Jam: A New Legacy received even harsher reviews when it was finally released decades later. The sequel follows the same formula as the original movie in that it follows an NBA superstar who is sucked into the cartoon world to help the Looney Tunes win a basketball game. However, this time around, it is LeBron James as the star athlete and instead of villainous aliens, it is a conniving AI system.
Despite the poor reception, once fans are done revisiting the original 1996 Space Jam, they might be interested in checking out the sequel. Unfortunately, both movies cannot be enjoyed in one place as Space Jam: A New Legacy is available to stream on Max. In fact, the Space Jam sequel was one of several big Warner Bros. tentpoles from 2021 that were released simultaneously in theaters and on Max, along with the likes of The Suicide Squad and Mortal Kombat.
