Adam Sandler Takes A Big Swing In New Happy Gilmore 2 Image

A new image has been revealed for Happy Gilmore 2. The original movie was released in 1996, starring Adam Sandler as an aspiring hockey player who takes up golf to earn money to pay for his grandmother’s house, which was repossessed by the IRS. The film was directed by Dennis Dugan, and the remaining cast included Frances Bay, Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, Carl Weathers, Allen Covert, and Robert Smigel. In 2024, it was announced that Netflix was developing a Happy Gilmore 2, which is now set for release sometime this year.

Now, a new image has been revealed for Happy Gilmore 2, showing Sandler in the character’s classic form. He is holding his golf club in the air as he prepares to take his swing. There is a golf ball on the ground in front of him, and a sea of onlookers is waiting to see what happens. An allusion is also made to Happy Gilmore’s hockey-loving tendencies, as the character sports a Boston Bruins jersey above his track pants. Check out the image below:

In addition, the image also shows a look at his new caddy, played by Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. His role has yet to be named. While Ocasio is newer to film acting, the star is better known by his rap name Bad Bunny. He has popularized Spanish-language rap music worldwide, and it is conceivable that the film might have a song by the artist. The full nature of Bad Bunny’s role has yet to be revealed, but this image gives a glimpse at the part.

Bad Bunny was previously in the Bullet Train with Brad Pitt.

Even with the new image, Happy Gilmore 2 still does not have a release date. It is known to be coming out sometime in 2025, but its plot is still under wraps. However, some key production information is known, including the fact that it will be directed by Kyle Newacheck. Cast members including Sandler and Bowen return to their roles alongside new faces, including Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, Travis Kelce, and Benny Safdie.

Bad Bunny’s Role is Intriguing

Bad Bunny’s role was first revealed in the brief trailer for Happy Gilmore 2. This clip also showed Ocasio as the caddy, though it did not have him say any lines. The fact that the rapper-turned-actor is also in this image implies that he may have a more significant role in the film than just a cameo or small supporting role. Happy Gilmore 2 could be an exciting chance for the star to further prove himself in the film landscape.
