The Fantastic Four: First Steps Trailer Release Window Given Hefty Backing In Multiple Super Bowl Trade Reports

Marvel Studios may be close to finally releasing the first The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer for the upcoming 2025 MCU movie. Marvel’s First Family is finally making their debut in the MCU after years of fans waiting to see the iconic characters in the Avengers-based franchise. With The Fantastic Four: First Steps set to release in July of this year, the movie has been in post-production for a few months, and there has been a lot of speculation about when the first trailer will be revealed.

In new reports from Variety and ᴅᴇᴀᴅline about this year’s Super Bowl, the trades are hearing that two of Marvel Studios’ upcoming 2025 superhero movies will be highlighted, with The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer being a strong possibility. Marvel’s other two movies, Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*, will also potentially be showcased. At the time of this story’s publication, Marvel Studios has yet to confirm what trailers will release during the 2025 Super Bowl.

What The Trade Reports About The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Trailer Release Mean

While there’s a good chance The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ first trailer arrives during the Super Bowl, it’s crucial to remember that Variety and ᴅᴇᴀᴅline’s new estimations are speculation until Marvel Studios confirms their commentary. Given that Disney is reportedly showcasing only two upcoming MCU films, Marvel could very well release new previews for Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* instead of Fantastic Four. After all, they are the next two Marvel movies releasing in 2025 according to the current slate.

However, even though The Fantastic Four: First Steps isn’t coming out until July, the Super Bowl is a prime event for Disney and Marvel Studios to invest in marketing for the highly-anticipated reboot. The very first ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine trailer was released during Super Bowl 2024, and once it hit theaters, the Phase 5 film grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. That is why it would be logical for Marvel Studios to debut some footage for The Fantastic Four: First Steps when millions of viewers will be tuning in.

Our Take On The Trade Reports About The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Trailer Release

The Fantastic Four looking at light in Marvel Comics

At this point, it would make the most sense to have The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer debut during the Super Bowl. By the time the Super Bowl is taking place, The Fantastic Four: First Steps release date is less than six months away, which means the marketing campaign for the film is going to have to kick into gear sooner rather than later. Hopefully, if The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer indeed premieres at the Super Bowl, it will finally give the MCU audience an idea of how Marvel Studios will be tackling these iconic characters.
