“Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder – “Isn’t She Lovely” plays at the opening of You’re Cordially Invited, and quickly establishes how Jim sees his daughter Jenni. The song is used for comedic effect, highlighting how much of Jim’s life is focused on Jenni. This is especially true once Jim realizes Jenni has gotten engaged, and the soundtrack shifts to a far slower and more imposing version of the song.

“Zebra Dance” by That Chicc (feat. Kali J) – “Zebra Dance” is the song that accompnies the Zebra headed dancer on one of Morgan’s successful TV shows. The show is hinted to be one of her biggest successes, and similar to something like The Masked Singer. The Zebra Headed dancer, who is actually played by Wyatt Russell in a cameo that only becomes clear at the end of the film, is actually a famous figure within the world of You’re Cordially Invited.

“Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jespin – “Call Me Maybe” plays after Jim and Morgan have agreed to split the wedding venue and discover that they have a shared restroom area. While Jim takes care of Jenni’s hair, they have “Call Me Maybe” on in the background. The poppy nature of the song gives the moment som extra comedic effect, especially thanks to Ferrell’s performance.

“Cha-Cha Slide” by Mr C The Slide Man – “Cha-Cha Slide” is one of the songs played during the rehearsal dinner for Jenni and Oliver’s wedding. “Islands In The Stream” by Dolly Paton & Kenny Rogers – A recurring motif throughout You’re Cordially Invited is “Islands in the Stream,” the romantic duet between Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Jim and Jenni sing a version of the song as part of a daddy/daughter beat during the rehearsal dinner, to the surprise and slight disgust of many people who recognize the Sєxual imagery in the song. However, it’s given deeper meaning when Jim reveals to Jenni that he and her deceased mother used to sing it.

“With Arms Wide Open” by Nick Jonas – Nick Jonas’ cameo in You’re Cordially Invited sees him appear as the pastor who is set to marry Neve and Dixon. Before he follows through on the ceremony though, he insists on singing the song “With Arms Wide Open,” originally sung by Creed. It’s a silly moment and one of the more memorable gags from the film.

“Bless This Broken Road” by Rascal Flats – Initially, Neve and Morgan quietly draw attention to the fact that Dixon hasn’t been allowed to use his favorite song from Rascal Flats during the wedding. However, after deciding to stand up to both her family and Morgan, Neve ensures that their first dance is to “Bless This Broken Road” by Rascal Flats. It’s a sweet moment that cements the relationship between the pair.

“Lose You To Love Me” by Selena Gomez – By contrast, the wedding between Jenni and Oliver ends on a more somber note, with the pair electing to have the marriage annuled. Although they don’t break up fully, they do post a video to social media announcing the decision. The video is accompanied by “Lose You To Love Me,” a breakup song that fits the comedic beat perfectly.

“Cherry Pie” by Warrant – “Cherry Pie” is the last song used for purely comedic effect in You’re Cordially Invited, playing during Jim’s attempt to propose to Morgan. Although Morgan says no (but admits she’d be happy being married to Jim if they could just elope), Dixon and his fellow Chipendale dancers break out in a planned dance to celebrate the successful engagement. This serves as one of the last big gags of the film.

“Islands In The Stream” by Reese Witherspoon & Will Ferrell – The final musical number of You’re Cordially Invited is a reprisal of “Islands in the Stream,” this time sung between Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell’s latest comedy character. This is after the pair have begun a romance together, and feels like a more natural fit than the purposefully bizarre performance shared between Jim and his daughter. The song also features some brief cutaways to the rest of the cast, who also sing along to the song.
